Nice article on Miller (and a bit of a slap to Bucky and his comments)
By the weekend, he was back in Rochester, stewing internally because he wasn’t given a chance for redemption and fuming outwardly about what fans and the media were saying in Buffalo.
“I’m not this fragile little kid, but it struck me as odd that me showing emotion was wrong,” Miller said Tuesday, when a strained groin muscle limited his activity in practice with the Rochester Americans. “How is that wrong? I play the game with emotion. If I’m just letting everything roll off my back like a duck in water, then I quit, I’m done.
"But because I come in after the game and get mad and throw something, people think I’m wrong. To heck with them.”
“I want to be the best goalie to come through Buffalo. Sorry, Dom (Hasek),” he said. “Then after that, I want to figure out how to win a Stanley Cup. If it takes watching Patrick Roy games in slow motion, that’s what I’ll do. If it takes watching every game Martin Brodeur has played, so be it.”
I have a feeling that his psyche is still in tact.
