Atlanta has no depth down the middle.

Even if Tkachuk continues to play at center, he's a natural winger, and his lack of defensive smarts at the center position will be exploited in the playoffs.

He's not great defensively in the 1st place, so I hope they keep him there.

If they move him back onto the wing, their top two centers are Holik and Rucchin...

HAHA.

I think Rucchin is supposed to be out for a while, maybe even done for the season.

I believe Lundqvist IS a great competitor by nature. So I think he will have a great playoff to prove last years playoff debacle was not the real Lundy. He's won some big games in international competition so he's no stranger to pressure games.
In the beginning of this season, he wasn't in top form. The thing that got him back on his game was Kevin Weekes was in net for that western conference road trip and he did well for us. Woke Henrik right back up. So you have to realize how much this playoff means to him.

LET'S GO RANGERS!!

I have full confidence in Henrik right now, he has been our MVP during this great stretch we're on, and there's no reason to think he's going to slow down now.

By the way, Rangers PR guru John Rosasco took the first initials of the three high-octane forwards and came up with this moniker for the speedy Cullen line: RPM. While I'd jump on that with both feet if Prucha played center and Cullen right wing, it's too clever and aptly-descriptive to reject. So I'm going with it.

so what are the lines??
i was thinking about that. the guarentees are (by numbers) 5, 14, 16, 19, 25, 41, 44, 68, 82, and 92. so who doesnt play out of the remaining 2 spots out of the remaining 4 players (15, 28, 43, and 81 (if healthy))?? i was just wondering.

From what I've heard he's had a terrible case of Shingles and has lost some weight and body mass, that coming from the Atlanta MB. In addition he apparently creates some CAP problems and we probably won't see him.

From John Buccigross at ESPN.com

No. 3 Thrashers vs. No. 6 Rangers: This is a tough one. Jaromir Jagr is flying right now. Henrik Lundqvist is playing out of his mind. He's even cursing at ice girls, so you know he is ready! The Thrashers are better than the Rangers at every position but in net. The Thrashers are the better team and should win the series, but I'm taking the Rangers in seven.

Dont doubt Lehtonen, personally I think he is way better than Lundqvist his position is perfect he's 6'4 and covers most of the net, he loves the big games and preforms well under pressure. sure he has not seen the playoffs before but Lundqvist hasnt gotten a win in the playoffs so experince is not a factor. And when you talk about Henrick's gold medal yes thats impressive but Swedan had a awesome team ( GO HAVELID) and plus Kari didnt play because of injuries, I would have loved to see them go face to face in the olympics. Kari has more potential and is a better position goalie who can make the how in the hell did he stop that shot save when our team needs it. It should be a good series I pick the Thrashers in 6

Someone please tell me that Atalnta wasnt the arena where the cameraman absolutley SUCKED. Zoomed in WAAAY too much, lost the puck almost every shift and moved around so fast he caused 14 seizures.

Please tell me it was somewhere else.

Having that camera angle would BLOW for the playoffs. (plus no HD, but thats another story)

This topic has already been beaten to death, but calling Lehtonen "way better" than Lundqvist is ludicrous. Lundqvist has played in his Swedish league playoffs as well as the NHL ones last year, when he was nowhere near 100%. And you're right, winning a gold medal is impressive, to say the least. You should have stopped right there though. The rest of your post is just speculation, and believe me Lundqvist has made many jaw-dropping saves this season.

And for the record, Lehtonen is NOT better than Lundqvist. Even if Atlanta wins this series and he steals every game, that won't change my mind, sorry. Good goalie, yes. Not as good as Lundqvist.
actually I have wacthed alot of your games latley ya'll where the ones to clinch the playoffs for us thank you but we have to crush you in the playoffs.and Kari is the next Roy in my mind and alot of people in Atlant think the same thing. not that it is a guarented thing but he has the potential.

Thats the most ridiculous statement ive ever heard. When someone plays 4 playoff games that experience, win or lose. You think hes got a little more of a chip on his shoulder this year because of the 4 rounds of golf he played last April?

Not to mention the other championships hes won.

Please.

If Avery was such a team first guy, he'd still be a King.

I'm sure the Thrashers wish he still was a King so they wouldn't have to deal with him in their first-ever playoff series.

What's the over/under on how many penalties Avery will get Kovalchuk to commit?

Yep because the Kings were going to the playoffs. They had alot of reasons to keep him

Weak argument. If you actually saw even a game from this team after the trade, you'd see the impact he made here. Obviously Henrik's play saved our season, but Avery brought an entirely different attitude to this team and you're going to see that starting thursday.

Let-one-in, better hope that that's all he lets in per game, as NY will be putting it in the net, early and often.
