That would be as bad as the Turgeon for Corson trade, IMHO. The Habs went nowhere after that.

I'm not all for it since i really like Saku, the other thig is that Peca had knee problems recently (i know Koivu had them also...) so we would have to check for that....Also it won't be a move the the fans in general will like.

This is too vague...

Rumors out of montreal could means .. rumors read on the hfboards habs forum...

I dont see the value of a Koivu vs Peca trade..

the article does say it's unlikely montreal would trade koivu... so that probably would cancel out any idea

and Mike Komisarek... i think it's run by people who know... just their rumors section is similar to spectors... they get it from newspaper, cite them and post them in 1 place for everyone to go see
and to back their credibility... (not saying this trade will happen, cuz i doubt it will)... but they have a radio show which is pretty good if you ask me (they've had fleury, kovalev and waddell on it... so they've gotta be in the business)

Your avatar is simply amazing! It makes me laugh all the time... It's so dubious, and yet philosophical all at once!

However, I should disagree with you in that thefourthperiod.com doesn't just gather rumors from discussion forums; I rather tend to think that they will gladly report any rumor released by a printed source - no matter the credibility - which isn't really that much better, but can at least be backed up by more than just "according to Tony whose uncle's Pretzel's best friend knows...". So I find it to be a nonchalant gathering of rumors from established - though not necessarily credible - sources.

take on spectorshockey.net

:"According to CKAC, radio station in Montreal, the Montreal canadian will trade koivu and Rivet to Isles for Mike Peca et Roman Hamrlik.

Actually, this trade could be good for both team. The Isles were looking to save around 2 millions dollars.

Salary of Koivu: 4,000,000
Salary of Rivet: 2,500,000
Total: 6,500,000

Salary of Peca: 4,250,000
Salary of Hamrlik: 3,600,000
Total: 7,850,000

The Isles will save 1,250,000 ! And montreal will have a real defense #1 in Hamrlik. "

this one is really more interresting ...

If the rumors is koivu-rivet for Peca-hamrlik
I would be all for it, that would give us a very good defense and a good center, i know koivu is a very good player, but peca can put the same number as him and can be playing against other teams best players.
Imagine the line : Ryder-Peca-Bulis
Hamrlik-Komisarek

But who know if this is true????
