But to save you the trouble (and you should read this post in the entirety) I will put everything I mean below.

Bouwmeester as An All-Star??. Every team needs to have some recognition in the All-Star game. All that says is that he is deemed the best player on the Panthers (not in the league). The Norris voting was to prove that he is NOT considered as one of the top 5 defensemen in the league (because he isn't, but to some panther fans he is even better than Lidstrom or dare I even say Bobby Orr). I never placed the kid at 11th and I don't think he should be the #1 for the team. It is hindering his development into one of the best defensemen in the league. As for being a potentially top-2 defenseman, there are many teams that wouldn't have him as their number one defenseman on their teams. He is too young for that kind of role right now and they will have him paired with a veteran #1 guy so that he can develop properly (the Panther's don't have that luxury).

And I do have every room to say that someone doesn't know what they are talking about when they say that they wouldn't trade Bouwmeester for Ryan Getzlaf and JS Giguere. A Ryan Getzlaf for Jay Bouwmeester is a pretty much even trade all by itself. Add to that a proven top 5 goalie. The panthers would need to throw in something extra with Bouwmeester for Giguere. That is why he didn't know what he was talking about.

And Finally, I wasn't offering Bryz for Bouw in a straight up One for One trade. I was talking about how Nashville might have asked for Olesz, San Jose did do that, and that Burke in Anaheim probably made the inquiry for Bouwmeester (my name ain't Burke).
I think you don't read your entire posts or you would see how much you contradict yourself. Read my entire post and use some common sense.

You use the Norris voting to say he isn't a top 5 defenseman, but yet the Norris voting means nothing when I use that as an argument that he is the 11th best defenseman.

You make being the fan of only one team ("you panthers only fans") abnormal. Sorry that we are loyal to one team I didn't know that was a crime.

I don't really care how good some Panthers fans think Bouwmeester is, you are underrating him by a good deal.

Don't try and change the argument to say he shouldn't be a #1 yet because he is too young because you clearly said he has "the potential to become a top 2 defenseman." Which is rediculous and I think you are alone in thinking he wouldn't be a #1 on most teams, which in itself is silly because being in the top paring like you said "have him paired with a veteran #1 guy so that he can develop properly" there really isn't much of a difference between 1 or 2.

As for your All-Star game theory, if that rule were not in place he would still have been in the game. At one point he was leading the balloting at defense. The Panthers also had Jokinen who could have gone so it wasn't like the Panthers were starving and had to send Bouwmeester. He also logged more ice time in that game than almost everyone in the game.

Whether you meant a one for one trade or not if the Ducks asked for Boumeester in that trade they would be laughed at. It's not even close. You clearly don't know how good Bouwmeester is. Read up a bit on the NHL, or maybe talk to someone who knows about the league, Jay Bouwmeester is one of the best young players in the game and one of the best defensemen in the game at 23. You can keep arguing and dig yourself a bigger hole or you can accept that you made a statement about a player you didn't know too much about and save face.

I know where I rate Bouwmeester and I have not underrated him. But I guess this thread is now over due to the fact that Vokuon is coming to town. I like Vokuon, way better then Belfour. i would be rather disappointed if the Panthers fail to make the playoffs next season.

LOL, nice response. Sports 24-7 is right. Especially with the way you used the voting. It either does prove something, or it proves nothing. It can't do both!
