Kings best all time Tough Guy??

All this talk about getting a "tough" player made me think who was my favorite player to fill that role. Here are a few of the guys I thought of off the top of my head

Stu Grimson
Tocchet
Blake
Brennan
Stumple (ok...Im kidding)

Easily McSorley

Can't put all the blame on the stick (although it makes one wonder).

Marty always gave a good showing and should go down as the top enforcer ever to wear a Kings jersey at the very least.

All time best Kings tough guy? It's probably the league's best tough guy as well, Tiger Williams.

I think Tiger Williams is probably the best enforcer ever but he only really played 2 season with the Kings if you add up the total games. Tough for me to declare him the best King's enforcer when he only did the enforcing for a short period of time.

I agree 100% , Mcsorley rules it was great to see him score that goal in the heritage classic, I went nuts. Personally I believe that he did not deserve what he got and that it was mostly due to Brashear not keeping his helmet done up...Marty should not have been charged

And yet, Grimson gets a mention

If you are going by all of those factors, Jay Wells should get a mention as well.

I don't want to open this can of worms again, but I agree with you. It always looked more like sloppy stickwork than an attempt to injure to me.

Jerry Korab was great... Jay Wells was a tough customer...

but Jay Miller was a terrific fighter and a tough enforcer.

Not sure what you are talking about Legionnaire. I didn't start the thread and never mentioned Grimson (who I hate anyway). Might want to re-read the thread.

Oh I know you didn't. However, Grimson was mentioned by the original poster yet you quoted my post, and then pointed out that Williams was only on the team for two years. I guess what I was wondering was why?

Now I understand. Well, true, Tiger Williams fits the criteria if Grimson does. Me personally, wouldn't have considered Grimson at all. Williams only because he was so great, but he wasn't here long so I give the nod to Marty. Using my own personal criteria.

Randy Holt, in terms of just being a pure tough guy...

Agreement here. Tiger was a middle weight who could kick some remarkable butt. He could score, played a regular shift, (OK when he wasn't counting down on the penalty pine). He was simply nuts. Lappy and Avery are players in the same mold, but Tiger was at another level entirely.

Here are the Tiger's Stats. Half a point a game, ~40 points/, 300+ penalty minutes! HeeeeWack!
