Ulf was scum and a very dirty player, same as Claude the Fraud. Plus, as Neely says, they were cowards to boot.

But 2 points. First, it hurt the Bruins team-wise once opponents found out that they could get Neely off his game. Cam had some bad playoffs and some great ones, but sometimes he was too easily distracted.

Second, no one ever mentions the dirty hit by Daneyko right before the playoffs when Cam was breaking in on goal from the left side and Daneyko dove right at his knee. This was the week after Cam scored the 50 in 50.

The Bs went on to play the Devils in the playoffs w/o Neely. Daneyko obviously helped his team.

I would talk about that Daneyko hit all day. I thought Daneyko was little more than a slow, lousy, turnover-machine that was not fit for a legacy greater than John Blum until Lemaire and Brodeur showed up and he ended up with some rings.
The Bruins still went up 2-0 on the Devils even without Cam. With him...who knows. I still have unresolved, possibly now misplaced, hatred for all things Penguins and Devils because of these moments.

that was the thing with neely - he had such a temper, that the only real way to stop him was to get him off the ice.
