Is the season over yet? I'm definitely ready to retire.
The score was not reflective of the play as the Rats outshot the Moose 26-23, but could not capitalize on several golden opportunities.
Most guys played well, a few do deserve mention in the hall of shame:
Craig Darby had an off-night. All that I can say about that.
Krisjanis Redlihs was definitely a notch worse, though. The powerplay goal was scored after he took an absolutely idiotic retaliatory penalty away from the play. Eventually the Rats got caught in a bad linechange and the Moose scored. Ugh. On the second goal, Redlihs was alone with the Moose player, and just couldn't force him to the outside. (Redlihs is not someone you want to put in a one-on-one situtation as he usually doesn't fare too well). Clemmensen probably should have had the goal regardless, but it doesn't really matter when the Rats couldn't score to save their lives.
Oh well, the front office gave everyone in attendance free tickets for another game, so I guess I'll be back...
Brett Clouthier scored twice in the second period as the Clones downed the Dayton Bombers 5-1 at U.S. Bank Arena on Wednesday. Clouthier would go on to record a “Gordie Howe Hat Trick” with two goals, an assist and a fight.
