I like Maurice.

I dont think Laviolette can be called a good coach after only two seasons being especially being as the players all wanted him out.

Say what you want about Lavy losing the locker room, but he's the only coach in the past decade that has gotten the Isles into the playoffs. And it doesn't look like Stirling is going to do that.

I'd rather have a coach that gets results than a coach that's popular in the locker room.

I like Laviolette. I just meant that I dont consider him at the Maurice level yet.

I understand.. He doesn't have much of a track record, and only with one team..

I give him extra credit for dealing with Milbury and how tight and smart the Isles played to start his tenure.. Losing the players eventually or not, that was an impressive turnaround for a long dormant franchise..

I don't think that was a difficult locker room to lose.

It'll be interesting to see how Lavvy's approach works for old schoolers like Francis and Brindy. Unlike the leaders on the Island, the guys with letters on their sweaters down in Carolina share Lavvy's views on hard work and commitment to winning. It could be a very happy marriage.

I don't think so either. Maybe trading for hold-outs to make up your core and be your team leaders isn't the best way to build a team.

although not the nhl laviolette was excellent during his tenure as head coach in providence for the bruins. i wish him the best in carolina. in fact he should probably still be in boston if the cheap ******** didnt give em the shaft.
