A like the idea of Price carrying the load better. The experience will be vital, and Danis is most probably going to leave once he becomes a UFA.

I doubt it. Danis' stock is worth nothing right now, compared to last season when he debuted in the NHL. There's a ton of young goaltenders in both the NHL and the AHL so I think he's staying if we actually want to keep him. Throwing Price right into the AHL playoffs when he's never played pro hockey before is not a good idea. In any event, our track record is we work rookies in slowly through the organization so it may be a moot point anyway.

While I don't think it makes the Dogs better, the move of signing Price and keeping Halak up here, surely means that, as far as the big club is concerned, Halak has nothing else to prove down there, probably secured the #2 spot already, they want to give Price as soon as they can, some professional experience and they really want to see what Danis will do in the Playoffs, 'cause they might have a big decision to make in his case.

Not the greatest decision for the Dogs (Halak has to be better than Danis, Sauvé and Price), but a great decision for the Habs.

Will Halak be Slovakia's starter or is Peter Budaj going?

Halak doesn't have anything to prove in the minors anymore. This club was written off by a lot of people before he backstopped us back into 8th. Hopefully he gets the starting job in the WHC. And I'd put Price into net for the Dogs, see what he's got at a higher level in a playoff situtation.

I don't see that happening that quickly, but if Huet falters early, I can definitely see Carbo moving Halak to the #1 spot. Congrats to Price, hopefully he gets some quality time to help prepare him for next season.

1, witch means if Price starts stronger then expected in Hamilton imo it's bye-bye Huet and hello the 4th goalie war in the last 8 years

I hope he is able to win a backup, or even starting job in Hamilton next season. With Danis and Leighton he may end up in Cincinnati, but hopefully he makes it to Hamilton next season.

There's absolutely no way Price would be sent to Cincinnati.
