bro theres a rule for interference and a ref calls it. and he did it fine you cant interfere with a player with out a puck, i understand you madness but man its obvious, he didnt just interfere with one player he interfered with the golie as well. the only reason he didnt call it is becuase the goal insude after the interference. anyhows vokoun freakin shined. the nashville pk and defence shoulda helped him way more.exciting game neva tha less.
There was no penalty...last time i checked, interference is a penalty...yet no one to the box on that play...bro.
(NOTE) A goalkeeper is NOT "fair game" just because he is outside the goal crease area. A penalty for interference or charging (minor or major and a game misconduct) should be called in every case where an opposing player makes unnecessary contact with a goalkeeper.
The league needs to change this rule for when an opposing player get checked into the goalie by his own defenseman...this league is becoming a joke with its two referee system.

Yeah our PK bit the big one tonight.
the rule book states that an interference call can be made to stop play its the referies judgement to call a player for it and his judgment to stop the play, he chose to stop the play after a goal insude he judged not to call the player, its an old rule interference to stop play, interference to call a player, two seperate calls, old rule check it. and a goalie is never fair game. though that rule sucks sometimes but its there to protect goalie injuries.
First of all, good game for both teams. It was nice to discover a team like Nashville, which we don't meet often. I found the Preds to be a very fast and exciting team! Would have been nice to see Tootoo get a goal, what with his 400 friends and relatives at the game.
By the way, some of the Preds fans came to post on the Canadiens' board, and I found them to be respectful and classy guys, unlike other teams' fans (Boston, Buffalo, Toronto, etc).
Good luck with making the playoffs, and I'll be looking forward to our two teams' next meeting!
P.S. On the refused goal, Montreal play-by-play guys said the ref evoked rule 78-C. And Theodore was injured during the warm-up, which explains his bad 1st period and eventual replacement.
I really think hall's goal should have counted, BUT I am not going to whine about it. Our PK and defense was horrible and we're lucky we even got 1 point.

Exactly, it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, but I still recognize how lucky we were.
...I'm rather thrilled we didn't come out of there with no points.
...Timonen is in a bad, bad slump offensively and especially on the PP. He's the reason Zidlicky is struggling as well. He's been unable to get Zidlicky any chance of a shot or any room to create. All Zids is able to do is pass to someone like Legwand or Arkhipov who will hold the puck and make a bad pass. I'm worried Timonen might be hitting a wall of sorts. He's never ever seen this much ice time and I hope it's not weighing him down.
...The Hamhuis-York combo continues to scare me. I think Hamhuis needs a calming influence. He is going to make bad passes here and there and York just isn't playing well enough to keep this combo afloat. I know the +/- looked good last game, but several times, Montreal kept the puck in for 45+ seconds while those two were out there. This is where Skrastins would have been great. I think a Timonen - York, Eaton - Hamhuis would do wonders.
...This was absolutely one of the worst officiated games I've ever seen. Not in the number of penalties called, but in the way it drastically changed the game. The no goal on the Hall put in was a joke and was a typical NHL official. He made a rash judgement. He learned from his huge mistake and went upstairs on the next too. Too late for the Preds though. It turned out to be a 2 goal swing as Orszagh high sticked Zednick and they got a goal on the ensuing PP.
...The no goal on the second Souray goal was just an embarrassment as well. I'm not sure what he was thinking. I'd love to hear him explain that. Same with the Bulis goal/no goal. It would seem the goal judge would call that (and he said no goal), but no, it didn't stop our wonderful refs.
...the call on Johnson was not as much the refs fault as it was a cheap, pathetic acting job by Dagenais. If the NHL was as effective as it should be, players would be fined handsomely (or suspended without pay) for acts like that. Like they had said they would do, games should be monitored for such acts and punished accordingly. Once again, it cost us a goal.
...the final call on Eaton, the call we all knew was coming was a joke. Trotz even called it out. How he gets an interference on that is beyond me. Bulis loses the puck and Eaton has just as much right to it as Jan does. Well, apparently not. That cost us another goal.
...I could easily claim that inept officiating cost us a 4 goal swing and handed the Habs the game. But I'm content with the fact that we pulled 1 point out of a pathetic effort. Trotz blames the team. Maybe he should look at himself and his assistants. After all, they are the ones who failed to adjust either special teams group. We played the same way in the first that we did in the third. If your PK is having that little success, wouldn't it be wise to try to change it a little bit. Put some players out there that have never been there (Erat and Co.). Would atleast seem like a worthwhile gamble.
I still do not understand the no-goal call, nor the lack of getting any review.
Garon came 5 feet out of the crease, dove for the puck (he was already on the ground), this completely took him out of the play and he had no chance at the puck even if the Hab player didn't fall on him......., on top of that, he dove into Boilion and whoever the Pred player was who were battling for the rebound. How can they hand out an interference for that???? Its pathetic. This is why I was so bitter about the call. It didn't make any sense at all!!!! It was just gravy that the official, who was so adamant about waving the goal off and not giving us a fair review, did not assess any penalty.
Oh well. I am grateful for hte point as well, and it was truly a great game by the Habs.......Still, I can't help but think that that point could come back and bite us come playoff times.
