Blackhawks win draft lottery

Nice not to see Pitt in the top 5 for a change this year, picking up another franchise player. Oh and of course it's awesome not see the NYR in that list as well.

Good for CHI. My heart goes out to their fans. Wirtz makes Dolan look like Santa.

So who are some of the prospective players who could be picked where we draft?
What range is Angelo Esposito most likely going?

I'd like to see..

Chicago do better; always been a fan of that club but they've been tough to watch. Glad to see 'em get the top draft pick.

I see Espo going between 5-10. Hes ranked 11th by the ISS right now.

Chicago - Kane
Philadelphia - Turris
Phoenix - Voracek
Los Angeles - Van Riemsdyk
Washington - Cherepanov
Edmonton - Alzner
Columbus - Couture
Boston - Gagner
St. Louis - Esposito
Florida - Ellerby

Theres my little mock up.

Since I have no clue where the Rangers are going to end up...im not going to try.

it was well worth it.

There isn't a huge drop off between the 2 spots are there this year?

Hockey's been dead for years in one of the biggest markets in the country... so let's bump them up 4 spots into the first overall pick. Good thinking Bettman.

If they let Crosby go to Pittsburgh, I doubt they were willing to interfere in Esposito or whoever going to Chicago

Likewise. I have a few friends that are Blackhawks fans and they really deserve to see a better team than this.

And I'm glad the Flyers didn't get it either although they are still going to wind up with a pretty solid pick at 2.

1) Is there any real top echoleon of players this year, or is there not much of a clear top 1-3/5 players this draft?

2) Esposito, would he be related to Phil/Tony?

nice beard by the youngster:

Angelo Esposito is not related to former NHL players Phil and Tony Esposito. He does however have uncles named Phil and Tony Esposito, and wears number 7 on his jersey, the same number as former NHLer Phil Esposito.

Chicago is a franchise that really needs to get on it's feet. Too bad this is not a draft that is going to net them an unbeliavable impact player. But Kane should score a lot for them.

There isnt a Ovechkin/Crosby type impact player in this draft. But there are some that show some promise. The top 10 could really go in ANY order. That shows how deep this draft is suppost to be.

Good for the Blackhawks. They "earned" this pick over the last few years of disarray and bad luck.

Nice to have a Western Conference team get the #1 overall for once.

Only 4 Eastern Conference teams picking in the top 10 is nice too.
