Joel is not very good at all.

hed have trouble cracking this lineup.

id call him a slight upgrade over Ortmeyer, who might not make this team next year.

Yeah, he got the same drive as a Ortmayer, and a nose for the net.

But he is clutch, just like Orts. He actually made Frölunda's men's team before Henrik. He made it to the national team long before Henrik. He have always been a kid who comes in and kind of looks a little out of place but who contributes allot. Especially in big games ect.

In terms of skill he is very smiular to Orts IMO, he might be a little behind in the PK department where I think Orts is extremely good, but Joel got a better nose for the net. Its funny that Inferno wrote what he wrote. Christer Rockström once said almost the exact same thing dooing a game for C+ in Sweden. Rocker said something like "you have to give Joel tremendous credit for playing like he does, because he just isn't that talented but still gets so much out of his game".

In the brothes last Championship back in Sweden during the lockout Joel really stepped up. Frölunda was playing Färjestad in the finals with Sheldon Souray and Zedno Chara on defense. There was a ton of talk in the media about thoose two. Souray was described as a Indian god and media here in Sweden really loved him since he was so marketable and did a ton of pices about him all the time. Then Joel stepped up after the first game that they lost and challenged him in the media, saying something like, "why even play the rest of the finals?", "Färjestad got the god and we won't stand a chance", "Souray isn't even good, he is just geek, we lost because we made misstakes". I think allot of people thought Joel was kind of crazy, but Joel backed it up by hitting Souray and beeing in his face for every shift the rest of the way, completly taking him out of the play. Very impressive.

Joel is good man. Having just watched the entire Stars Canucks series he really impressed me. Hits anything that moves, good wheels, was great at face offs, always hustling and can chip in with some offense here and there. Its kinda wierd watching him actually cuz it looks like Henrik skating around as a forward. heh I think he'd fit in great. Oh and as a side note, the refs in game seven of that series did the worst job i've seen in a long LONG time. and thats saying something this year. Stars got hosed big time.

I initially thought this was a thread about Burke Henry's brother!

You see him play lately??? He reminds me of Jan Erixon in alot of ways. Excellent 3rd liner with some top line offensive ability just emerging, you should see his goal from game 7 last night.

I wanted Joel on this team years ago, wouldve cost nothing. Sather/Maloney shouldve looked into it last summer.

When we beat Dallas on December 14, Joel was in the lineup against us and Henrik. Joel failed to record any shots in just under 6 minutes of ice time.

I'm thinking you mean that you'd like to see them play together on the same team, no?

For the record, Joel Lundqvist was 3-3-6 in 49 GP this season with 14 PIMs.

Year Team League GP G A P PIM
2000-01 Vastra Frolunda SEL 9 0 0 0 0
2001-02 Vastra Frolunda SEL 46 12 14 26 28
2002-03 Vastra Frolunda SEL 50 17 20 37 113
2003-04 Vastra Frolunda SEL 49 9 14 23 48
2004-05 Vastra Frolunda SEL 50 7 12 19 38
2005-06 Vastra Frolunda SEL 49 10 22 32 87
2006-07 Iowa Stars AHL 40 16 22 38 30
2006-07 Dallas Stars NHL 36 3 3 6 14

He seems to have some limited offensive upside and a little grit, though I feel like we have players with equal or far greater potential that are younger in our own system. It certainly would be nice to unite the brothers, but not at the expense of a roster spot for a younger, better player.

Anyone watching Ott/devils?

First minute of play devils announcer (chico?) says " I dont know who will win this series but the winner will feel like they can go and beat buffalo in round 3"

Although 2 minutes later Ottowa scored and I loled.

Doesn't look so bad for the rangers now when all 3 of the "top 3" goalies have game 1s like this.

edit: 4-3

and doc and chico are pissing me off already.

Would be nice if the rangers could come back in games like this. Let's just hope we won't have to tomorrow.

lol 4-3 now?

I was so close to post about how little I belive in NJD in this series, and how they probably had the easiest opponent in the entire PO's in NYI...

Nah, I still think Ottawa will take this one pretty easy.

man I feel ****ing robbed now, look at the high quality of this game because the teams are playing the game. not having the refs call every love tap or errant stick that tips someones jersey.
