Well if I wasnt a rookie i would probably vote for Dany Heatley, but I really like Volchenkov and Emery so it would be hard to pick...

I voted for the Big Rig too.

But yeah, he is a leader on the team, gave a home-town discount to stay for 4 more yrs, plays big in the playoffs and is just generally a very good defensive defenceman.

This is the first team I have liked every player, so it is difficult for me to pick one. It changes from day to day. But for today, I have been really impressed with Corvo and his comeback from the brink. I am happy for the guy and enjoy seeing him play well

Phillips. The bigger the game, the more the pressure, the more his team needs him, the better he plays. Without fail. How many players can you say that about ?

Why are you making me choose? I have so many favorites on this team

Volchenkov - what's not to like, the man is a rock
Phillips - the Big Rig has been steady all year, looked great in game 1
Alfie - played great down the stretch
Corvo - comeback player of the year for me
Preissing - steady presence on the backend, what a shot in game 1
Fisher - is simply a beautiful man
Heatley - 208 points in 164 games as a sen
Spezza - he can be frustrating to watch until he makes an amazing play and then after the game he'll make you laugh in the press conference
Comrie - huge surprise, has supplied some missing offense ever since Havlat left
Neil - how about that backhander the other night?

But if I have to choose at the moment I'm really high on Schubert, he's just a great team player and he has such a likable demeanor.

Yup, done. Alfie's the best.

Joe Corvo is the reincarnation of Jesus himself, I think we should start calling him Jesus Joe! Dr. Giggles and Big Rig are my second and third favourites. I always like the guys that are bred through the organization, even if they leave us.

I agree. He looks so happy when he scores or is a part of a goal, and it brings a smile to my face also. Plus with his past frustrations in the minors it's just proof that hard work pays off, he thought he was gonna be in the minors forever.

****, i clicked Spezza but meant Neil. He's the best i didn't stop cheering his name or sit down until well after the play started when he scored that goal.

This poll was conducted at the end of the regular season.

Volchenkov seems to have been the favourite Senator in the regular season, while Spezza and Alfie were 1 and 2 votes behind, respectively.

As promised, I am working on the follow-up poll now.
