Well if NHL is going for a product in which the winner is able to hurt the most people first by letting all borderline and downright ilegal stuff go then fine... but I guarentee the first time a ranger boards a thrasher and he falls down there will be a double minor.

the point is it was a love tap, especially compared to the amount of cross-checking, elbowing, and boarding that goes uncalled, and I'm not talking about this game only.

I was at the Nashville-San Jose game last night, they could/should have called 10 penalties per period, that's how much crap was going on in that game...

I'm tired of one thing from the refs - inconsistency. If you are gonna let things go, then let them all go...if you are gonna call something minor, then you better call all the rest of the little stuff too.

Crosby just too a blatant cross check to the face coming into the zone just now...you mean to tell me neither of the 2 refs saw it?

I've been watching hockey since I was a kid in the 70's, and I willcontinue to say that the NHL officiating is the worst, most inconsistent officiating in all of pro sports...

I got the internet feed working and 5 minutes into the game, the fire alarm in my dorm goes off...I WAS PISSED!!!!!

so i missed the insane Avery goal, my dad told me bout it though, sounds nice!!

Betts Penalty was bogus!!! If they don't call a goalie interference on us for touching the goalie wen he's out of the crease they call us on a trip where it was so clear hedberg lost his balance!!! But we killed it off!

Keep up the hard work! LETS GET PHYSICAL!!! haha

LET'S GO RANGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2nd intermission: 1-0 Rangers Lead

King Henrik is on his throne today!!!

Just checking in. Interesting. Hollweg sits for another game. Rangers feel good about their lineup and it's toughness. 16 hits for Atl., 5 for the NY in the period. They out hit us big time, we're still ahead 1-0. Question is, will they be able to wear us down.

I agree. We are lucky to get out of that 1st with that score, but we all know it isn't going to end 1 - 0. There is still a lot of hockey left to be played here, and we aren't going to make it if we keep getting pushed around. Let's either give Ilya the Orr "AO" treatment or send Orr out there to "Fedoruk" someone.

Hollweg REALLY needs to be dressed to put this overgrown punk into next week again with a knockout hit to his chinny chin chin.
****ing EXACTLY either the refs need to call a penalty on this borderline bs or someone needs to go and hit exalby in the dirtiest manner possible short of using the stick to the face method.

that should calm some of this horse **** down

Thrashers are gonna run out of gas. They can't play this style of game all night and roll only 3 lines.
It'll catch up to them sooner or later.

That was a great period played by the Thrashers, just got an unlucky break.

The Rangers really needed to dress Holly for this game and minus Orr. We need to start playing the body better and controlling the puck in the O zone. B/c of all the penalties, our lines have been jumbled and not able to gain any momentum. I think I saw the 3rd line out once all together once. Our speed line has to start killing the slower "Colton Orr's" on Atlanta.

The bigger problem out of all of this is that even IF we win the series in this fashion it doesnt matter because we're gona go on to play someone in the next round who probably didnt even break a sweat and we'll have half our guys on painkillers or worse.

Good first period anyway--though I have to listen to the Rangers radio feed because NBC is in Ottawa. I agree with the poster who said the NHL is pimping Crosby. Lucky break apparently on the Avery goal but better us than them. Maloney was giving the refs hell for the Betts call.

personally, I'd like to see both Orr and Hollweg in with Orts out. I love Orts...but ATL is playing tough, meaning our energy lines need to hit...
Bring up Bourret lol.

so while we are complaining i want to add that the crowd pisses me off. there seem to be A LOT of bandwaggon fans in the house that keep cheering every single bodycheck even if it doesnt connect.
i dont know whats up with the atlanta crowd if there are drugs in their water or waht..
remember game 1? that jerk in the beige colored jacket banging the glass like an idiot?

Same Here, If you want to have ****** officiating and make really weak calls, thats fine.... as long as its ****** ALL the time and not on a game by game basis when whats called one game isnt called the next...

**I can't wait until the Rangers draft a player like Dion Phaneuf. Just saw the commercial of him, what a great, great player he is.

Shanny needs to get going

i think that ortmeyer is the only player who can come out for hollweg, unless they decide to take prucha or callahan out, but i dont see them doing that

we will have to see, but if this keeps up, i see no way renney doesn't dress hollweg to provide us with more physical play

also i loved de Vries going for an elbow on cullen and cullen dodged it and there was no call, that was an intent to injure, heck an intent to kill with an elbow that ive seen thrown on ufc

the refs need to start callin the BS
