It's a long time ago but I'll tell you what I remember about Dionne.
First of all, his height and weight listed above seem exaggerated. If he is really that big, he never played like he was that big. If my memory serves me correctly, he was gifted offensively and had great hands and a good shot, but otherwise was a very soft player. He was bad defensively and didn't like to hit or grind it out. I don't think his speed was that great either.
He probably would have made a decent NHLer in the 80's, but in today's NHL he just didn't have the defensive skills or the physical skills to play in the NHL.
Thank you very mach. But I know all of that.
What hard he had in your life for so little NHL carrier?
Dionne was an extremely selfish player who, if he wasn't scoring a lot of goals, was a poor choice for a position in the line up. He was not a good skater but played around the net enough to score early in his career. In my opinion, he let his pride take over from there and stopped doing the things he did to bring him to the NHL initially.
Dionne stank. He only played when he felt like playing, and he was selfish.
I'll never forget when Brisebois blasted that shot from the point in OT vs. the Sabres in the 93 finals. It tipped off Dionne and in, and Dionne started pointing to his chest and screaming, "It was me! I scored!" What a loser. Who does that?
