All true. Problem is no matter how much you beat a guy up, if you are the bloody one at the end it's always viewed as a loss. Doesn't really matterin the long run who wins or loses a fight between goalies anyhow. That was bad in the twin-size-mattress-pad days where every goalie looked like an extra for a Michelin commercial. It's amazing they could even get close enough together without their pads coming in the way.
I've never really known that to be true. I've heard a lot of fans say the guy who ends up on top when they fall to the ice could be considered the hands-down winner, too. I personally don't think either is very accurate, and that the number and quality of blows landed should be taken into consideration. I know others who hold that view as well. So no, I wouldn't say it's "always viewed as a loss."
And come on. You can't tell me that you didn't expect a Red Wings fan coming on to an Avs board and taking a jab at Patrick Roy to start a fight
Get over yourself and contribute something meaningful. I made a joke about a single incident then let it go, yet somehow everyone wants to keep dragging it back up. I said my pieced, backed up my statement with a solid argument mixed with personal opinion, and moved on. Try doing the same because I'm sure one of the mods would have banned me by now if they felt I was trolling.
I did not know that making a weak argument, about a guy who is 5th or so on th all-time wins list, in response to someone pointing out your unappreciated joke was contributing something meaningful to this thread.
