GDT: Columbus vs. Calgary

Calgary is the hottest team in the NHL and we're still the Blue Jackets.

The only way we score 3 goals or more is if Lasse Pirjeta gets a hat trick against the only team he can seem to score against.

Let the carnage begin....

Lasse 4 Calgary 2.
Fearing the wrath of HF posters, Lasse wakes up for one game, realizes his potential and nets six goals -- four for the CBJ and two for Calgary.

Hey Nash, ye bum! Why don't you start scoring some damn goals again! A freaking Red Wing just caught you!

4-2 Jackets. Denis plays another solid game, Flames are a little tired after giving Boston a beatdown. We have good luck against the Flames. Out on the limb here, Sanderson scores 2.

Um, I dont think you remember that the Flames dont suck anymore. They did a 5-0 Drubbing with their backup in net, and tonight, they will probobly start the hottest goalie in the NHL right now, Kippurseive.

I doubt we win this one, not without our Forwards playing Defense Tonight.

Ouch...
Damn, 63, opening up the thread like that is like a slap in the face. Do we really need such a brutal reminder of our suckiness, right from the get-go??
Anyone know how the line's are shaking up tonight?

I listed to a lot of sports radio today (damn work, deliveries aren't in my job description), and many have Columbus pegged to win this one, because they're expecting a loss soon.

I predicted 3-2 Columbus

Why is Nash playing on a line with a talentless player like Wright. He should be on Cassels line.

Not only 0-13 on the PP, but we also gave up a short-handed goal (and almost a second one).

Unbelievable.

Yup, that was some good stuff...
I'm not pinning it all on him, but MacLean had better give someone else a shot behind the bench before he loses both his jobs. This team has no cohesion whatsoever and that power-play was just awful.

DM's post game comments lasted about 30 seconds. They were as follows.

"The Power play was the game... I mean, I've never seen a power play that looked that bad in a long time. I mean we have uptine opportunities, we are out shooting them 25 - 5 at one point, and we're losing the hockey game, I mean come on. The power play was pathetic. And, there is no excuse for it. I mean, I, I just cant understand, we go into the game 13th in the league on the PP, and we have a performance like that from our power play? Its inexcusable. Pathetic."

At this point, another reporter starts his question.

DM turns and says...

"I'm finnished"

And proceeds to walk off.

He was Livid. You could see it on his face. Expect changes...

Ugly, ugly, ugly.

Over 4 minutes of 5-on-3, and no goals to show for it.

What was the official call on the 2nd Flames shortie that was called off? I never heard an explanation, although from my seat it looked like the net popped up briefly, ala Zidlicky.

Another dissapointing performance... the highlight for me was the cracked glass replacement and the fan with his jersey on inside out with a bag over his head. Also heard a lot of BOOOOO's this evening (me thinks the fans are a little disgruntled).

NASH - PERJETA- ZHERDEV, the jackets true #1 line
I would have started Brathwaite last night to make the game interesting .

I'm guessing that for the next home game, by DM's decree, paper bags will be confiscated from fans as they enter the arena.

Tell me what you saw in last nights game that proved me wrong. Those who have been around here forever could tell you that I have been one of the most optimistic posters here (of course that was compared to Ozzy, so... :p ) But as mentioned in the article that Foley posted, the natives are getting restless. When this team starts cutting the excuses and starts scoring 3 or more goals on at least a semi consistent basis, I'll give them credit. Until then, they dont deserve it.

Pirjeta. He seems to come out of the woodwork only against Calgary.

I am the orignial Pessimistic Jackets Fan, no one can take my title

Looks like my guess of them finishing 13th in the West is alittle off, maybe I was too optimistic going into this season

Both.

Zherdev made a nice pass through a "flames" legs to hit Lasse in full stride... who then... what can you say? It was just an amazing effort. Period.

And Nash? wow. Backhand to forehand to back of the net.

See! They do read these boards! I told Nash to score!

Hey team! Win the rest of your games this season! Hey DM! Fire yourself! Hey Lasse! Pretend all teams are Calgary! Hey Jessica Biel! My wife and I both dig you, PM me! (you never know )

I watched the first period then quit. Now, finding out how awful they were on the power play, I'm totally disgusted. I plan on immersing myself in video game hockey for a few hours where the Jackets actually play hard and win.
