What happens to Rimer now?

With Maclean gone what happens to the broadcast team?

Could we see Tyler Wright as color next season, now?

I think Gare has a couple years left on his deal. Not sure about Rimmer.

With a new President and GM I don't really think anybody is safe in any facet of this organization including the broadcast team.

The only guy that is untouchable is Ken Hitchcock.

Hmm good point... I can't see Rimer staying on without Doug here. Howbout we forget signing that #1 Center and get Jim Hughson from HNIC?

Unless Doug goes to another organization by next season, I think Rimer will stick around at least for a year. But, like with the Doug situation, I won't be surprised to wake up and see him gone tomorrow, but likewise, I won't be surprised to see him stay. I think his ties with 1460 will also come into affect the situation.

I think Gare will be around for awhile, assuming he likes it here.

I really love Rimmer's voice, and hate to see him go.

But, I think the whole organization will be revamped - including the gameday audio team.

I despise, detest, loathe, abhor Jeff Rimer. HOWEVER, it would amuse me to no end for him to get stuck here another year without his Master ... I don't know if he's even capable of stringing two original thoughts together, but I'd love to see him try.

Kick Gare down to the ice (that's always where he was during his Fluffalo broadcasting, and it was good the lone time they tried it here) and get Two-Minute Tyler up in the press box.

Good stuff.

Has Wright ever said he would like to announce?

His voice makes me cringe. Apperently Rimmer travels around with MC, he was with MC when he was with Florida. So who knows weather hell be here next season or not.

Im hoping for the later.

He was a guest during one broadcast this season, and did the broadcast for the High School hockey tournament for ONN.

I love Rimmers energy and he seems like a good/great guy, but to be honest, I dont care for his play by play. I think it would be a hard job, and would take Dan Kelly back over Rimmer any day of the week.

Fair enough though I disagree.
Confirmation to me has been listening to the Stanley playoff announcers who can't stop talking and pee themselves with every 2 on 2 break and shot on goal.

Maybe I've been conditioned by loving baseball-style announcing.

By the way, how do you like my avatar?

Very Nice! Anywho, I don't know if Nikki should be so happy, he's probably one of the few people on this team on a short leash because of his antics. I've gotta think Doug didn't want to get rid of him and would never have traded him, the new guy won't be so forgiving...

This is the kind of hateful language that the world needs less of, especially this past week's world.

Abhor hate. Detest loathing. Despise libel and slander.

Your signature of "Dougshouldgo" should now be "DougDidGo"

Perhaps this thread should be retitled: Now that Doug's gone, who in the organization will especially be feeling the heat.

As you said, Nik
Probably Jody
Picard
Brule
The guys Doug had extra "face" invested in.
Who else?

Yep, Shelley just lost his meal Ticket when Douggie Fresh got the boot. Nik...absolutely, nobody that didn't draft him would put up with his antics, Picard, we hardly knew ye, You've had over 30 games in two NHL seasons to prove you belong and you can't crack the lineup even when AJ is dressed as a forward.

I'd say No to Brule, or at least not yet...

And what do you think happens to CLARK and AGNEW and GERARD after they hire a new GM?

Clark was the one who traveled to Europe last summer to look at our prospects and try to get Nik into camp. Other than that...don't know much about him.

Anybody know how much money they still owe Gallant? (or if?)

How interesting is it that this PRIEST fellow from JMac Inc has been made President?
Could that be a permanent move? And why wouldn't John P. McC take that role? They're both already Mr Mac employees. Interesting.

Regardless, this has obviously BECOME Hitchcock's team (and that could save an old skool guy like Shelley for one more season). Hope he has a plan.

Heya Pot! Long time no read.

No, really JF, Rimer is an indefensible abomination to the craft of hockey play-by-play artiiiistes. Honest to the Hockey Gods ... an abomination.

See ya around,
Kettle

PS: Your avatar is grossly offensive. Well done.

Look who's talking.

So... when does the "Help Rename DKB" thread start?

But I would miss Rimer. I think he and Gare have a pretty good chemistry. You don't know what you got till you hear other broadcasts and realize how horrible they are. Rims is a total pro, dispite his shortcomings.

If I had to choose between Kelly and Rimer I'd pick the mute button. They're both awful IMO.
