Tuomo Ruutu

Ok, i didn't watch many b'hawks games this year so i am curious...

Two seasons ago, i picked this guy up around january and he went on to be as hot as anyone could be for the second half of the season.

The next season he played, what 15gms or so...

So this season i was expecting him to come out and produce.

What held him back? Is he really a very skilled player (was the 2nd half of '04 season just a fluke or is that something he should be able to reproduce over a season?)

thanks for any responses..

IMO

Ruutu will be a great fantasy player in PIM leagues. While I am not certain he will ever be a PPG player he will deff get 60-70 pts and solid PIMs.

Ruutu has a good release, but could look to shoot more.

This kid basically had not played a full season in 3 years and he started this one out hurt too. He is just finding his game again, but the work effort is there.

In 2-3 years, if healthy, I think he will be an impact type player.

I agree... he is a very good player. There's certainly no question that he has been spectacularly unlucky with injuries and these may have hurt his development slightly, but he still skates, hits and shoots hard and can be a good power forward.

He has a great wrist shot and if he ever gets to play with a decent centre then he may get a point 60-70 points. The best centre he has played with is Arnason...

What made him so special for that half year in his rookie season? I mean he was at over a PPG pace.

That was with Arnason, correct?

thanks again.

I don't know everything just seemed to click for him. I mean it's a cliche but he was just on fire.

Ruutu is my favorite player in the NHL (sadly) I loved watching him in the SM-Liiga.

I think he needs to get out of Chicago (damn injury curses )

Ruutu was relatively injury free this season.

The one injury he took was in pre season and was a cheap shot.

Did Tuomo play against Denmark?

I couldn't find any stats showing that he played.

Just wondering if he's hurt again...

No he didn't play, but it's nothing serious just a little fever and he should be back against Russia.

He needs to get out of Chicago, if he wants to win the Stanley cup. That one ain't happening with Wirtz in charge.

yeah sorry about that, I was reading the article as I typed, and meant to put yesterday. But I think we should still credit him with a GWG today because he probably would've had one if they played.
