Woywitka - first pro goal

Jeff Woywitka just scored for the Roadrunners to tie the game vs the Baby Leafs 1-1. It was his first professional goal.

His is from when he played for the World Juniors (I think) and your picture is probably a newer one.

Lynch, and then Ulanov for a while.

Lots of fights in that game too, Winchester and Henrich both got fighting majors.

Wow, did Morrison ever suck in that game.

Another goal and an assist for Lynch, he played better than Woywitka IMO.

Other than the fight, Henrich didn't do too much.

Rita was the invisible man again, though he did get a 2nd assist on Nate's goal.

Bishai continued to impress me. Decent moves, good speed.

Salmo was all over the ice again driving opposing dmen crazy, but not much touch around the net...too bad.

Ulanov looks like he's trying to impress, jumping into the rush and all. Not too effective, but the effort was there.

Didn't see Sarno tonight, injured?

I know it was facing AHL penalty killers, but right now I would put the Roadrunners' PP against the Oilers' PP any day. It at least looked like it had a plan in motion most possessions.

Woywitka showed some good mobility and passing skills, but he did get caught up ice a couple of times.

Funny watching the baby Leafs in Toronto, it's like a home game for them - they were getting more cheers than the Roadrunners were it seemed.

I got the same impression when I watched the Rebels, Lynch seems like a natural jumping up with the puck and Woywitka wasn't as noticeable in that regard.

Too bad that Rita's in the toilet again, I noticed that in the last game they played he had no shots, no points, -1 or some such.

I thought Woywitka looked excellent, several tape to tape passes heading out of the zone. Lynch is going to be a good one too. Salmelainen might not have touch around the net, but he's got lots of try in him, and imo he should be up here right now.

Rita I don't know. he does nothing, then steps over the blueline and sends a bullet.

I was pleased to see Winchester get into a fight. He looks (along with Cullen) miles away from being a player, but the size is intriguing.

Yeah the tools are all there for Woywitka - and you are right - he does look like he will be a fine dman. With Woywitka, Lynch and Greene in the system (and Brew, Semi and MAB still being very young) we are pretty much set at defense.

Now we can worry about finding a young goalie to split time with Conks next year - Salo is so gone.

He signed a 25-game tryout with the Roadrunners not that long ago.

Yep... What do you think about Gerber ? Although he isn't young, he would surely not be expensive and could share duties with Conks

Against the baby Leafs, the runners scored all three of their goals on the PP. Maybe the OIlers should look at tapes of their farm club?

I Like Gerber, but try and convince Bryan Murray to deal with KLowe again.
