158 photos from game one last night

Hey guys,

My name is Mike Lynaugh and I am one of the photographers that has covered the Buffalo Sabres all season, and I was there last night and thought you would enjoy seeing some of my photos from the game. I actually grew up on Staten Island and used to go to the Garden as a kid to watch the Rangers...so this was fun for me. They are mostly photos of the Sabres, but there are plenty here that I think you will enjoy too. Unfortunetly, I am headed down to DC tomorrow for a week, so this is my last game this series, unless it goes the distance...then I will be at game 7. Enjoy the photos!

Great pictures...I don't think I saw a single Rangers fan in the stands there..kind of surprising, lol.

The one of Drury where it looks like he's skating on fog is really a cool affect.

Thanks guys! Acutally I think I saw one Rangers fan in one of my photos http://www.mikelynaugh.com/sabres-ra...s/IMG_0581.htm I am guessing that one guy is a Rangers fan. I wish I could be at the other games here....bad timing with the DC event though...who knows, maybe it will go 7 and I can get to another game and shoot some more shots of your boys for you guys.

Haha, that first picture of Briere is just a tad little homoerotic

Great work by the way

Thanks again guys.......Fatal, which song do you mean? I actually have 6 up there....the main one (the one I think you mean) is Hurricane 2000 by the Scorpions....it's a cooler version of their '80's hit, Rock you like a hurricane. That song is so cool...but I don't quite understand why we use it considering the Canes knocked us out of the chance for the Cup last year....."rock you like a hurricane" seemed like the wrong song for us to go with

Great Job Mike, I know how tough hockey can be to capture, I took my D50 to a game and wow, talk about messing with apature, and white balance all night to get the lighting correct.

What kinda gear do you use, and what settings do you typically use? My first time didn't go that great, but I'd like to try again.

Again thanks for sharing!!!!

Thanks again! As for my gear / settings - I have a Canon Digital Rebel XT, and an older Canon 80-200 2.8 lens. The exposure in Buffalo is 1/800 @ 2.8 and I set the white balance manually when I was on the bench and saved the setting....so that one I don't have a way of helping you with....but I hope the exposure helps! Good luck!

There had to be some, cause I heard a let's go Rangers chant when the cameras were in the locker room, before the game. Not a loud one mind you, just sounded like a few people. I don't think the Rangers heard it though, lol
