Fun to ponder. Will the Wild try to call up a guy to play the role Brown would play.. physical.. or will they just bring up the best available? Or will they bring up some other kid just to get a look at him?
What's the word on Jason Beckett? He's got some size, it looks like. No points in 23 games but he's not on the minus side and has 40+ PIMs.
With the Aeros turning things around I'm not sure I really want us to take one of their top guys unless he's going to get good ice time up here.
Let's see how the Hockey's Future profile stacks up to what he does on the ice:
(I noticed he's listed at 195 on the profile, not 210)

Decent, well-rounded prospect. Lack of size or any dynamic skills will likely prevent him from being an impact/top-4 guy at the NHL level - upside is to be a decent depth/complementary defender. May not be big enough for his style to play well in pro and advance past the AHL level. Made a smooth transistion to the pro game in 2002-03.
From my talks to people who saw him, he'll fit in nicely. He's similiar to Brown, he'll drop the gloves and he can clear the crease. I think the HF write up is a little outdated. The guy is doing well down in Houston and from reports from the Prospect Tourney, he was our best player there. He was like a freight train I believe someone said.
I remember him from the Aeros game played at Xcel last December. I recall his physicality most of all. He nailed a couple of people in that game, including one where he angled and closed the player out against the boards.
Yet I remember being discouraged with his skating and questioning if he would be able to be as effective against NHL forwards.
Of course that was a year ago and it was only one game so there is a lot more observation to be done. He is replacing Brown though so...how much worse could the team potentially be now?
