Kovalchuk Interview

Interesting Kovalchuk interview that mainly deals with the World Championships, but has a little bit of everything: http://www.rushockey.com/events.php?...erviews&id=596

Good interview, he sounds confident and ready to make a difference at the WC

interesting take on the playoff point spread and just being unlucky

i rationalize that we only lost one less game that Pittsburgh

Do you think that Atlanta’s head coach Bob Hartley and general manager Don Waddell have to worry about their jobs?
-Oh, I don’t know what I do not know. So far I am not the club’s president.

After the final match in the series against the Rangers, you were complimented by Don Cherry for a fight against Sean Avery.
-Really? Thank God. A compliment by Don Cherry – that is very prestigious, because before he proposed that my arms and legs should be broken.

I loved the comment about the tennis racket:
Quote:
(Indicating to the tennis racket hanging from Ilya’s shoulder)
If it’s not a secret, who will be playing tennis?

(Smiling)
-Nicole plays. And I only lug rackets around, like Fedorov for Kournikova...

I wonder if he hopes Kari's in net for Finland on Tuesday?

Quote:
Yet Finland will be joined by your main goaltender Kari Lehtonen.
-Yes, I know that Kari will be playing. And that’s excellent – I know some of his weak spots.
