Thank heavens we don't have Ray Whitney around. We'd really be stinking up the private jet with his terrible road performance. Good thing we got better in the offseason with Sydor, Marchant and Letowski!
In all fairness, I think that the Whitney move was the right one - I'm just a little bitter that the game that got talked up all through the offseason is just that - all talk. The plan was solid, the execution just isn't happening.
There are improvements in the team that I see, and there's a lot of hope for the future. Getting beaten by the Wild really makes me bitter though.
And if Shelley just slipped, there is no way he'd have been scrapping on the ice trying to give him a few more shots to even it up.
He tried in the 3-0 shut out at the end of last season too.... gabby didnt want any part of that one...
I remember that one---my girlfriend and I had seats right behind the CBJ bench, so it happened in front of us. Gaborik had his glove up under Walser's (or Westcott's?) visor, giving him a prolonged face-wash, while someone else had a hold on Duvie (or Derrick?).
Nasher went after him, and the linesmen jumped in as Gaborik was trying to skate away.
