that's a steal for Vancouver... they give up a goalie prospect they're never going to dress in their lineup for a potential stud pivot down the middle.

Schneider is so expendable it isn't even funny.

... You are forgetting the other part of the equation: Mattias Ohlund.

If you are VAN would you trade Matty O plus Schneider for Jeff Carter?...

Jeff Carter isn't even worth Mattias Ohlund straight up IMO.

what if you switch ohlund with morrison.. Morrison is much more of a passer than a shooter and would be a great no.2 center

This is ****ing retarded. Trading Schneider was a laughable notion for most Nuck fans until some radio personality informed you all that he could become an unrestricted free agent as early as next year. Tell you what...you can take what ever dreams you have about getting one of the Flyer cornerstones and shove it up your ass. How does that sound?

We've had a year of retarded proposals. Roger's response is pretty tame in that light.

Ohlund is certainly a good player, and he's certainly capable of bringing more to the table in the immediate.... however, Carter might go off and pop 40 goals next year. Depends what you're looking for... a defenseman with alright offensive ability who is good on defense, or a potential stud down the middle.

depends where you are as a team as well, for sure. I don't trade Carter for Ohlund straight up, he's a more important piece to the puzzle here than Ohlund would be.

So many people hear severly overrate Richards offensive abilities.

You guys wanna talk about post of the year? I didn't see this before.

And reading Richards as being severely offensively over rated gave me a good chuckle.

He's been a PPG player for a very substantial amount of time.

Since March 1st 2007:

22 points in 19 games with a +11 rating playing on the shutdown line and spending a great deal of time on the PK.

Even going back to February 1st, 2007 he has 30 points in 32 games with a +6 rating.

This isn't a fluke... this is dating back well into last season. Sure, I doubt he drops 82 points this season but, that being said, if he is still on pace for 65-70 point in December I think we can stop worrying about his offensive output.

I agree, I don't think it's a fluke either. I mean, I don't think he's a point-per-game player, but I think he's a 60-70 point guy in addition to everything else he brings to the table. Complete package.

The way he's playing is no fluke. But as everybody knows, players produce in bunches for a number of reasons. One day the puck will just stop going in, or the players he passes to start shooting wide. It happens. As long as he plays at the same level he's playing now all year (or for his career), he's the exact player we hoped for.

Not saying that yahoo's fantasy rankings hold a whole bunch of merit but, in the beginning of last season they ranked Richards #50! I thought they might have gotten him and Brad mixed up, I think it was more of a fluke for him to play like he did last season than the way he is playing this season.

Is there truly a need to bump a thread like this, thought it was something new...

We can probably have a mod cut out the Richards' hetero-man-love, paste that into a different thread, and then burn the rest.
