1st look? Maybe the Draft...

In terms of buying one... could be one those annoying situations where they're not even available for purchase until X-mas. Reebok has even put off making 3rd jerseys until the 2008-09 season...... seems like they're all a little too "hi-tech" (i.e. difficult to make) for their own good...

This is confusing...I'm assuming now that we're talking about the new jersey's the nhl are using next season and not the state of NJ...weird...anyway I'm sure we won't see what they look like until maybe the draft.

Damn, and I thought this thread was about the questionable "no goaltender interference call" last night..

I heard the Caps are going back to red, white and blue. Nice move. We should go back to our old royal and deep orange colors.

I heard the same about the Caps and hope that is true.

I do disagree with most about going back to the royal. I'd love to see the royal used as a 3rd jersey from time to time (not quite as often as we currently wear our orange 3rds) but I really prefer the navy blue. (And I'm a fan from the Cup years so it isn't like I am some young punk.)

The only high point I know of in NJ is when you get to leave.

You're not a young punk but you're definitely a punk

I like the royal blue better. I feel like teams were all going with Navy in the mid to late 90's as some cool trend. that trend is over.

I like our present jerseys, actually. I admit, I was never a big fan of royal blue, as sported by the very real, very bearded Jean Paul Parise on the left.

I think i'm just tired of seeing the Navy at home. I want to see the home whites. if we go with home white then i think the navy will be fine. I get tired of the dark boring Navy every game.

They're supposed to be going back to home whites next season. I certainly hope so.

Also, i went to a game at the Bridge this year, they wore their whites, those are awsome. I wish those were our third jerseys. i guess they can't be since they are a white base. But i think they keep the orange to a respectable amount. The current 3rd jersey are too orange.

I still get confused by the dark-at-home thing. I guess home whites were hardcoded during my formative years.

Going to dark unis at home was just plain stupid.

Why did that happen again?

Seeing as the NHL is enjoying it's lowest television ratings in...well...forever...is there any chance Bettman will be leaving us anytime soon?

Boy does that guy suck an unmerciful ammount of balls.

I thought it had to do with wearing third jerseys at home? But i could be wrong. You know it had to do with finances in some respect. I alwasy defended Betman all these years, but he's just awful. he should have gone after the lockout.

The Canadians have a white 3rd jersey....no?

Supposedly they went to dark at home because most of the 3rd jerseys are dark and they didn't want to visiting team to have to worry about which jerseys they should bring with them on the road.

White at home will be a huge improvement.

IMHO we should ditch the navy as well. Any meaningful history this organization has is while wearing royal.

Meanwhile, I can still hear MM saying: "It's time for the Islanders of today to write their own legacy in these new uniforms..." when introducing the Fishstick jerseys (and adding navy to the color scheme for the 1st time) in 1995.... still waiting...

Plus.... what do people think about when they see the navy jerseys? Personally, I see: (1) Peca's knee exploding; (2) Yashin's 40 year $179 billion contract; and (3) Steve Stirling.
