Kings vs. Sharks GDT 12/27/03

Since jfont's threads aren't doing the Kings any good ( ), I thought I would start my first one.

After getting embarrassed last night, the Kings should be ready to play tonight.

The Kings are 5-0 so far in the second of back-to-back games, with victories over Pittsburgh, Colorado, Tampa Bay, Dallas and Nashville.

Top Kings Forwards
Palffy: 14-24=38 pts
Robitaille: 9-15=24 pts
Frolov: 11-13=24 pts

Top Sharks Forwards
Marleau: 13-9=22 pts
Sturm: 11-10=21 pts
Damphousse: 3-15=18 pts

Hey one thing going for the Kings tonight.....I won't be at the game.

I somehow feel responsible for the complete and utter disgrace that was last nights game.

Here's to hoping for a 5-0 shutout the other way.

I'm hoping for two things from this game:

1. A Kings victory

2. A Scott Thornton beating at the hands of Kip Brennan

Well, you won't get #2 for sure, per the suspension of Brennan. Maybe in March.

After sitting out last night's game with a hip injury, Scott Parker is said to be ready to return to the lineup tonight for the Sharks.

Go away mage :p Youre killing my optimism for this game. Where is Ryan Flinn when you need him.

Would it not be "the bomb" if Brad Norton returned tonight? I'm thinking AM *has to* dress Tripp.

I Keed, I Keed... you mean like Triumph the Insult Comic Dog's new song?

(if the song hasn't gotten radio play in your area and you have no idea what I'm talking about, consider yourself lucky)

I love that song! That is exactly what I was referring to.

"Jlo Jlo with that bit fat tailo, with the music you make they should put you in jailo."

Huet didn't follow through on his initial decision. He started towards the puck and then stopped. He was dead to rights after that. Easy breakaway goal that should have never happened if Huet skated out to the puck instead of stopping halfway out.

At least one goalie showed up for the game. Nabakov has been brilliant. Hopefully Huet is watching.

Man... Between Shearrers and Jackson, could the NHL have assigned two worse refs? Of everything that's been goiong on by both teams, Jackson calls interference on Stuart? Brutal call.

Should have been stopped at the blueline if Corvo is watching where Marleau is skating. Nice pass by Damphousse as he was careful to get the Sharks blueline before making the pass to avoid the 2-line pass.

If the Kings don't come back in this game, I think we will be able to look back at this point in the season to show where it all fell apart. Losing two three goal leads and then losing back-to-back games against the Sharks to lose the division lead.

By the time the Kings get healthy it will be too late. It looks like the Kings started to believe all of the positive press about how "great" they were doing this season with all of the injuries.

Have the Kings stopped listening to Andy? They haven't been playing any kind of system since December began. The are missing assignments in the defensive zone and they have no offensive flow. It is just one flip to center ice after another.

Well, that period could have gone worse.

But, then again, it could have gone a whole hell of a lot better.

Poor effort by the Kings.

Nabber has been awesome since coming off the IR. With how Toskala was playing, there had been goalie contraversy talks starting before Nabber came back... I think those have been put to rest.

Agreed. Too bad MW didn't decide to start Toskala. At least, we might have had a chance against him.

I didn't see that at all... I saw a period that the Kings played very well in, and only got stoned by a red-hot goalie.

As a Sharks fan, I was cringing for most of the period.
