I'm not usually one of those homers that will overhype a prospect, but I have seen enough of Toews over the past 2 years to honestly tell you that Jonathan Toews has Franchise potential. Heart, leadership, offensive/defensive awareness, dominant puck control/distribution and the willingness to "Learn".

Allow him to adjust to the rugged schedule of the NHL and I think the sky is the limit for Toews.

I read another thread recently that asked if he should be considered "special"... well if being all those things I described above is not special, then I might need to start eating some Special K, cause I guess I have no idea what special is.

Jonathan Toews

He just goat his first goal of the Worlds, and has added an assist so far in todays game. He's up to 6 points in 4 games so far.

Wouldn't you guys just love to have the #2 pick in this years draft to go with your first overall. It's all yours, and it'll only cost you Mr. Toews

Please?

At the end of the college season, it seemed more likely than not that he was going to return to ND for another year. However, with his success in the WHC I really think those plans have drastically changed.

"He's never on the elevator first and if he is on with me he makes sure I don't have to break stride when I walk into my room, that the door is open. Stuff like that."

that has to be one of the funniest "rookie hazing" things I've read in a loooong time.

"Once everybody has their water and the last puck has been retrieved, Toews might just teach Doan how to say something nice about referees in French. It could come in handy one day."

Actually since a lot of his team mates such as Oshie, Duncan etc said they were staying a lot of people thought Toews would stay for one more year to win a championship.

Toews would go #1 in this draft. Easily.

And I didn't know he could speak French...

Chicago must get Kane... i talked to him about going to Chicago. He knows he would have a bright future here.

I think Chicago will pick Kane #1, personally.

I would say that the first 5 picks in 2006 would go first this year.

Now that I think about it, you're probably right!

I'd take any of Johnson, Staal, Toews, Backstrom or Kessel over anyone in this draft.
