On this date in 1987, 2000 and 2004, the Flyers finished regulation play with a tied score in a playoff game. In each game, the Flyers won in overtime.

In 1987, the Flyers defeated the Montreal Canadiens, 4-3 in overtime, in Game One of the Wales Conference Finals. Ilkka Sinisalo scored at 9:11 of the first overtime period to win the game for the Flyers. The Flyers won the series in six games.

In 2000, the Flyers defeated the Penguins in Pittsburgh, 2-1 in overtime, in Game Four of their Eastern Conference Semifinal series. Flyers captain Keith Primeau scored at 12:01 of the fifth overtime period to win the game for the Flyers. The Flyers won the series in six games.

The game was the longest game in modern NHL history (152:01). In addition, the game's elapsed time of six hours, 56 minutes set an NHL record. The Flyers set franchise records for most shots in an overtime game (72) and most shots for both teams in an overtime game (130).

In 2004, the Flyers defeated the Maple Leafs in Toronto, 3-2 in overtime, in Game Six of their Eastern Conference Semifinals series. Jeremy Roenick scored a goal at 7:39 of the first overtime period to win the game for the Flyers. With the win, the Flyers won the series and advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Awesome. Is it coincidence that May is the 5th month of the year and that when adding together the month and the day you get. . .9!??

I think not .

How about this one? If you add all of the Flyers' goals together, they score a total of 9 goals.

Is there anyway to get the old horn back, but make it as loud as the new one?

I loved that goal horn.
