I have no preference because we match up well against both teams.

I predict this thread will end in both rags and slug fans coming in here saying we're not respecting their team because we'd rather play one or the other.

sabres fan here

well...obviously I hope you end up playing the 'slugs'...but, given our record against you guys during the regular season, and the fact that you guys are freaking on FIRE...I was kind of hoping NJ would pull it out. great series anyways, i'm sure the sabres/sens series will be a bit more exciting though.

heres to a good series (assuming the sabres can get their collective heads out of their ***** and finish off the rags)

Hard to choose....

Rangers we'd have home ice.

Buffalo we'd have built in hate from this year's 'let's jump the supper stars' event and revenge on their mind from last year's loss.

Doesn't matter to me. The only thing I'd like is to see their series go 7 games so that Comrie, Neil and Volchenkov can get healthy. Despite starting this series rusty the layoff definitely helped Heatley and our other injuries.

with the Rangers my ticket buying is a no-brainer, with Buffalo the whole "do I buy the game 4 ticket, do I buy tickets to the Buffalo home games since I'm closer to Buffalo than Ottawa" debate enters into it. I still have no idea what I'll do.

We've put the kid to bed, exorcised some past demons, now we need redemtion.

I vote for Sabres! They are the team to beat, the best in the league, the beast from the east. But to be the best, you've got to beat the best! Wooooo!!!

Bring on the Sabres!!

PS: What kind of fan would we be if we'd hoped for the lower seed to beat the Sabres. It's like saying we're lack confidence in our team...

Remember after the home and home against Buffalo in February everyone was saying: ''Whoa, that was crazy. Too bad these two teams don't meet each other again for the rest of the season. Imagine if they end up playing each other in the playoffs though... ...it would be truly epic!''

It's where we at right now. We could face the slugs next round if they win.

I say bring it on.

I will post what I have posted in another thread:

Quote:
I can't see how any sane person would want Buffalo instead of New York.

Buffalo is clearly the better team compared to New York.

As I have already said in a different thread....If we brought our A game, a team like New York would be finished, even if they brought their A game. They would not be able to match either our top-end talent, nor our superior depth.

With Buffalo, however, we could bring our A game, and STILL LOSE, if they happened to bring their A game. They are that good, that talented, and that deep.

The only place where New York beats Buffalo is goaltending. But, as we are witnessing against the Devils, a team needs much more than a good goaltender to win games/series.

Buffalo has what both the Rangers and Devils lack. They have the ability to actually generate good scoring chances and the ability to overwhelm other teams. And even though they are weaker in goal than the Rangers and the Devils, they are still stronger in goal than we are.

Buffalo is scary, because they have the ability to beat us at our own game, and beat us regardless of how we choose to play them. No other team in the East has these abilities.
Based on this reasoning and logic, New York would be the easier and safer team to play.

That is not to guarantee that Buffalo would beat us. It is just that they have a much better chance at beating us than New York does.

It doesn't necessarily mean that you lack confidence in Ottawa.

It just means that you would prefer to have the easier opponent, because victory would be more probable.

I think a series with Buffalo and Ottawa. Could probably be the better than the finals. Two highly skilled teams going at it. So, much bad blood. The story lines are there. Ruff Vs. Murray. Miller Vs. Emery. I can only hope it's a Buff-Ottawa Series.

Could you being a Sabres fan have anything to do with your preference for Buffalo over New York?
