In 9 picks, SOME team is bound to make a reach, and The Blues will pick in the 2nd tier of players (which is not so far away in talent from Tier 1, in this draft).
But, they certainly have enough extra choices to give up a 3rd rounder to move up one, or a 2nd rounder to move up 3-4 spots.
They could also take advantage of some team's hots for a given player and move down to pick up extra high-round choices in this, and/or next year's draft.
I'm not too worried about The Blues getting a "bad luck" minimum out of their choices. JD is too sharp for that.
I agree I am not too worried about the bad luck minimum...but I don't want to use the #9 to move up...would much rather see a rooster player go or even the two other #1's...but we need the #9 talent...
