Fans outside Buffalo - help find Sabres bars

Here's a thread on Bfloblog, where Sabres fans among the great dispersed are chiming in with suggestions of places to congregate for the games.

Please contribute if you can, with the proper name of the place, if possible, so people can look it up and find an address.

Thanks for the link, although it didn't help me (yet).

Anyone in LA know a good spot to catch games on the west side? I'm a little tired of watching the games by myself at home. Wife and kids just aren't interested. Thanks!

Try the watering holes in Westwood close to UCLA.

I got my fix at the ESPN zone in Anaheim. I don't get Versus at my place so I had to make with no sound. Only problem is I pretty much had to beg them to put games on a day or two in advance and even then I'd show up and it wouldn't be on.

Haha. Sports Depot in Alston is where I watched the 98 playoffs. Funny people still go there.

my friend i work with here in nj went to DC and theres a huge buffalo sabres bar in VA she was telling me about. The owner kicked out a rangers fan during the playoff series... LOL... and I told her this makes sence for some odd reason there is a huge buffalo nation in the DC area if you go to a Buff game in DC at least 1/3 of the arena is filled with sabs fans its almost like being at home.

MayDay's bar of choice is the Blue Moon (at 75th and 1st, IIRC).

Does anyone know of a Sabres bar in Hilton Head SC? I'm going down there and don't want to miss the playoff games!

Sacramento Area: The Graduate in Davis, CA is the best I know about (It's about 20 minutes from the Sac Airport) I'll be there watching Games 1 and 3 probably.

I'm going skiing at Mammoth next week. Anyone know the best place to watch the game up there? Anyone going to be there?

Busby's in Santa Monica is the home of the Bills Backers, they might play the games for us.

I'm living in Redondo right now, but I haven't seen or heard any place that regularly hosts Sabres fans. I'd absolutely be willing to start gathering at some place for this. I was a little disappointed to move to LA and not find a more organized group of Buffalo expats/Sabres fans than the Bills Backers.

One contributing factor: I do love to DVR games so I don't have to ditch out of work early four times a week.

Sabres fans are upstairs with over 60 HDTV's and 2 HDTV projectors! The Hudson Grille Midtown is the Home of All Things Buffalo (& WNY) - featuring Genny Cream Ale, Labatt Blue, Molson Canadian drafts, beef on weck plates, and Anchor Bar wings. Additionally there is free valet parking. Past events include a meet 'n greet with Lindy Ruff, Rick Jeanerett, Darcy Regier and discounted tickets when the Sabres are in town!

If you have the unfortunate displeasure of living in Winnipeg, the closest thing you will find to a Sabre bar is my apartment as far as I know. On the plus side the TV is large and seating as ample haha.

Good call. I may check out Busby's if the Sabres are still playing when I get back from Mammoth! Last year I went to the Kings and Ducks games with a bunch of Buffalo ex-pats, so there are definitely some out here. But yeah, I pretty much rely on the DVR and Center Ice package too. For playoff hockey, though, it's more fun to watch with other fans in a bar. I vividly remember watching the 3OT "No Goal" game at Yankee Doodles on the Third Street Promenade. I also remember watching the Buf-Philly series a few years ago at the Beer Hunter out in the desert with a bunch of guys from Buffalo and Philly who were out here for a conference. fun times!

Yeah, that's the place, and that was my favorite.

Haven't been there in over a year though (with a little one on the way, we haven't been much in the bar scene lately), so I'm not sure how many Sabres fans still hang out there. But at any rate, it's a good hockey bar where I guarantee you will be able to watch the game.

Other places I have heard of as good Sabres/Buffalo bars:

Kelly’s at 12 Ave A
Kinsales on 93rd and 3rd

I'll be in Mumbai in late May. If the Sabres are still playing and anybody on the West Coast (of India) needs a place to watch with a fan, I'm sure we could start a Buffalo bar tradition there!
