Nope. But honestly, the fans loved the guy and he showed up for work and did his job. Okay, he's a bit long in the tooth and no one is saying he's capable of anything resembling his best days.... Did he really do anything that put the team down or made it hard for the guys to play? Freaks are people too. You guys sound like a bunch of straight-laced "we don't want your tattoo'd kind here" kinda folk.
He cant play anymore. On top of everything else people are saying.
Thats the main reason I dont want him here. He isnt a productive hockey player.
I was watching an old tape from when Darren's contract was bought out. Holland said then that maybe someday D-Mac would be back in Detroit. If they bring him back it would be for sentimental reasons.
That being said, unfortunetly (sp)? there isn't any room anywhere in the Wings organization for Mac. If he's not on the ice what else would he do? I don't believe his high contract was the only reason he was let go. I believe there were other issues at work there. I loved Mac as well. I appreciate everything he did here in Detroit and there are some great memories. I wish him all the best and really hope things work out for him. But the time for Mac here in Detroit has past.
