Hire Ed Belfour to be the new GM of the Rangers and he can set that up.

I expect one big signing, as we can afford it, even if Shanny stays.

Are both Malik and Rachunek at the end of their contracts?

I'd give staal a year in hartford. I don't think there is that much of a rush.

Definitely go after a top 3 d-man, but if we can't get one, I think someone like Baranka should be given a chance to make the lineup (don't get me wrong, staal should also be given the shot, but I'd hesitate to put him directly in the NHL. Baranka at least has had some time in the AHL)

I would do everything I can to go after Souray.

Souray-Staal
Tyutin-Girardi
Mara-Rozsival

I would look at Drury, see if he's interested. Nothing more.

Malik has one more year, not sure about rachunek, but that doesn't mean we can't trade'em

As many as he wants. The guy is still a force and I want him on this team until he can't possibly go on any further. And I don't even think he was at his best this season

Oh, and Drury proved himself with Buffalo this year. You would be crazy not to want him

This is the way to look at things. Its nice to see Ranger fans already looking to the future. You move on in your mind and all else follows. I'm already looking forward to the Draft.

I think there's a reason that, despite his "record breaking season", many habs fans don't care if he goes.

Souray has a heck of a shot and is quite physical, but he's not better skating than any of our defensemen and doesn't bring too much else to the table.

Ahaha! It's a giggle! Oh, Eddie, he's better for laughs than he is as a goalie. I hope to see him back with someone next year.

I want to see Kasparaitis back next year, and Malik.

That probably makes me the most unpopular guy here.

Doesn't Gomez hate NY? I'd rather take a player that grew up a Rangers fan than someone that hates this team

Without giving this too much thought:

Hossa-Nylander-Jagr
Shanahan-Drury-Straka
Prucha-Cullen-Avery
Callahan-Betts-Ortmeyer

Malik-Rozsival
Tyutin-Girardi
Rachunek-Mara

Lundqvist
somebody (not Montoya)

Rationale: Avery does not belong on the 2nd line. Too much pressure to score. I hate bumping Callahan down, but I don't see where else he should play at the moment. I'm ambivalent about Shanny since he looked gassed at the end of the year. If Shanny goes, then I guess you could move Prucha up to his spot and put Callahan back on the 3rd line.
