Yes, actually I have. My point is that you seemingly always reply to posts by writing something that doesn't have anything to do with the post you're replying to, which makes it all very confusing.

Ottawa. We match up very well against them.

The wing will not move to the East because many Eastern Conference teams will complain of having an elite team in their conference; one less playoff available in the East. The Red Wings are a virtual lock to make the playoff in either conference.
But I can see Columbus moving to the East if a team from the East moves to the West.

Yeah the travel time does suck for the Wings. But at least they can do it in style, it's not like they're traveling by bus or a regular airline.

The main reason I'd want them in the east is so there'd be more Red Wings/Toronto matchups. I miss us playing Toronto.

Yup, non-geographic conferences are the way to go. Something has to be done to event he travel out a little. Its a huge disadvantage for everyone in the West. Its worse for us since our division is terrible and we can't play any of them in the playoffs.

It'll never happen, Detroit is one of the few teams that hold any prestige in the Western Conference.
If they leave what big name teams do WC teams have to look forward to playing? Chicago, LA, Colorado?

I've voiced my disgust about it, but that's the way the league views the issue IMO, as evidenced by the latest realignment proposal that would see Columbus (freakin columbus) moved to the East instead of Detroit!

I can't see Detroit getting moved to the East.

Detroit has earned the right to move before Columbus.

Besides, the majority of the hassle comes from the travel in the playoffs, so there's really no benefit to moving the Jackets.

Detroit and Columbus are the only remaining Eastern time zone teams playing in the Western Conference. Detroit SHOULD obviouly have dibs. Columbus would have what, a 20 minute longer flight out west than Detroit?

Not nearly enough to merit priority. Not to mention Columbus has never shared a division/rivalry with a single team in the Eastern Conference. The West is all that franchise knows.

Moving Atlanta west would be horrible. We'd lose 4 somewhat short trips to Columbus for 4 much longer trips to Atlanta. How is that fixing the problem?
