Yeah right your getting a 1st round pick and dumping Gratton's contract.

no interest in Rivet or Gratton

If you guys want guys like Peca, Hamrlik and Parrish start talking

Komisarek ,Kastsitsyn ,Hainsey ,Hossa

guys along those lines.

If MM is gonna make the Habs stronger and possibly outfinish the Isles for a playoffspot/playoff series, be prepared to pay a heavy price.

We heard plenty of rumors involving Isles players. Same old, same old. They never happen because the Isles will not take back spare parts or expensive players.

You guys want a good player you have to give back a good player or top notch prospects. This means players you rather not give up at all!

You don't have the stomach for it?

Just what I thought.

With Hamrlik,Niinimaa and Aucoin all rfas looking for new deals,I don't see the nyi having an interest in Rivet($2.5m).They'd ask for one of the cheap, young defensemen not 28/29 yr old Rivet.I also don't see the reason for exchanging the 1st for a 2nd.

Peca-$4.2m
Parrish-$2.3m

Koivu-$4.2m
Rivet-$2.5m
Gratton-

dont get me wrong here i think comrie's a good player but i do think if the habs were to move saku they'd get more than a woywitka and a couple of draft picks.. unless these draft picks turned out to be that sidney crosby kid i dont see it happening lol

Isles have several cheap, young forwards 19-25 yrs old-Hunter,Asham,Weinhandl,Mapletoft,Papineau,Bergenhe in,Godard fighting for a limited amount of icetime.

No interest at all in Gratton.

if i were a team looking to make a run for the cup THIS year, i would prefer Koivu. Koivu has heart and ability in abundance, and his health is not in question NOW. teams that might/should be interested in him- to compete with the oppostions' *cough-cough* Colorado and Vancouver *cough* firepower should/might be St. Louis and Detroit.

if i were a future cup contending team with an OUTSIDE shot at contending now, I'd want Comrie. Comrie's got ability, questionable heart, but doesn't have the nagging health issue that, fair or not, comes with a guy like Koivu. I know, I know, Saku has overcome a lot, but plain and simple, he's not Mr. Healthy Reliable. Recovery for all his ills has got to have taken a toll on his body.

___________

as for the isles interest in him, i would be happy to have him becasue he would flourish amongst the happy shooters our team is made of, but i can't see it happening for anything other than Parrish + "good parts." the latter would include a solid prospect and a very solid pick. crew pointed out the career PRODUCTION comparison between the 2 main players in a deal like that (not based on a point per game system, if i'm not mistaken) and it's not so off.

montreal fans shouldn't worry. the team is in contention and with a few deadline moves and a theodore hot streak, could be real trouble. personally, i would add a sniper of the satan variety and a solid d-man.

Remember when Koivu was the team third line center? I think that he showed a lot of heart 2 years ago but what had he done since then. IMO, Koivu and Rivet are the 2 most popular players in Montréal.......english community. French speaking fans don't care much for either of them.

Agreed he is MTL most talented player but he would be a 2nd center in most NHL team. He is a natural born leader in Habs locker room led the finnish national team to high honnor.

I wouldn't mind him being traded, I am not sure he would fetch much more than what EDM got for Comrie.

I'd say his value would be similar to a signed and not holding-out Mike Comrie, but I would say he's more valuable to the Habs for his leadership then he would be to any other team. I can't see Montreal getting a return that fits.

what do you think of

Rivet , Koivu , Hainsey , Hossa and 2nd round
for
Parrish Harmlik and Peca

Peca=Koivu
Harmlik = Rivet + Hainsey , but Hainsey is not paid so much and he's younger(good prospect)
Parrish > Hossa+ 2nd round

Is that more fair , I think so because i know that Milbury is enought stupid to accept this proposal

How many fans of teams proposing trades with the nyi use that weak 'it's Milbury' line to try and explain why the nyi would do a trade?Isles are involved in a ton of trade rumors every yr and Milbury's been pretty quiet the last 3 yrs.

As for your proposal....

Even if the nyi traded Hamrlik, they have Aucoin+Niinimaa rfas this summer, looking for raises. They'd have interest in cheap, young Hainsey but no interest in 29 yr old Rivet making $2.5m and closing in on unrestricted free agency.

Hossa shows no more upside then the cheap young forwards the nyi already have so i don't see any interest there.

You want Parrish, Peca, and Hamrlik, then you'll have to pay out big bucks in exchange for prospects

Parrish, Hamrlik and Peca

for

Kastsytsin, Hossa, and a 2nd rounder

Possibly instead of the second rounder, add Komisarek, Hainsey, Locke, or Ribeiro and take someone else out.

But, MM would prolly do this because of the salary dump.

You'd be lucky to get a guy like Woywitka and a first for Saku right now.

Exactly
Koivu is injury prone. He's also having a bad year.
He won't fetch as much as Comrie unless if a team really really likes him.
Captain, no captain, it's his value that matters.

A trade like this would help the Habs.
But the Koivu-fans will come out screaming "Hell No".

Personally I like how Nedved plays. Poti is a good defenceman who will do much better then Brisebois.
