I saw on a mock draft that he would be the Blues pick ay nine. could you give me
an assesment of his talent and if he would be a good fit.
This what the ISS says about him, he's ranked #15
David Perron / Lewiston
Position: LW Height: 5.11.5 Weight: 180
There is a bit of Ales Hemsky/Claude Giroux in Perron. After playing junior A last year in Quebec, he has become one of the most dangerous offensive threats in the QMJHL this year. Perron had a very productive regular season but has raised his game in the playoffs, against Halifax, he produced 2 goals and 6 assisted in just 5 games, a goal and 4 assists in the last game in which he dominated. Some teams may have some concerns with his size, but this kid is a hockey player, through and through.
From what I have read about him, I like him a lot, but would say he is probably appropriately ranked and thus won't get the Blues consideration at #9 and won't be around for our later picks.
He sounds a lot like TJ Oshie. I think the Blues should take a chance on him if he is a skill player like Hemsly. he maybe a little small but, the game has changed in the new nhl. You dont have to be as physical as you used to. I would prefer a guy with an offensive upside rather than another grinder or defenseman.
