*Sigh*

I'm not inspired by tonight's game. It's more of the same. We outshoot them. They score more goals.

WHEN WILL THIS END!?

g2k's second intermission positive notes.

Brewer still seems to be sticking to his new regime since his injury. Nice to see.

Oilers seem to be gaining some confidence. Puck possession on the powerplay too.

Hey a Rhett Warrener goal, rock on. I don't like how the Flames keep getting outshot, thats playing with fire IMO. But their shooting % sure is skyrocketing.

I know Lowe has the patience of Job, but at this point it's probably time to put two guys on ir and call up one or two of Salmelainen, Rita, Lynch, Woywitka.

This team can't hear a wake up call, they're in a coma.

After two:

Smith has been nasty all night long. Some of it has rubbed off on Brewer too, he was after Kobasew like he looked at his sister or something.

I have been impressed by the D overall tonight...they are playing well in their zone anyway...to me, this is the game that has really proven to me that the players outside the goal crease are not the problem. The D has been mean, smart and tough. Salo has been inept.

The forwards have been playing alright, but NOBODY has really stood out. Some poor passing choices (and, just poopy passes overall) have ticked me off.

Salo is puke. We should sue Belarus for emotional damages. He hasn't been the same since.

If the Oilers don't pull out a tie at least in this one ( ) You have to start wondering if the shakeup this team needs can't come from moving a few players, but a few coaches.

Back to the offensive zone...what the heck is it with the Oilers and not getting their best chances through to the net? You'd think the Flames were Dallas or something tonight. That's what this one reminds me of...one of those classic uphill-naked-on-a-slip-and-slide-covered-with-oil moments.

Can someone please tell Roger Millions and John Garrett to get off the Flames' balls?

Jason Smith

What happened at 5:09 that J. Smith got an instigator and fought with Gauthier?

Well the Oilers sure aren't contributing too much to the "Safeway score and win" hamper too much this holiday season.

well, this outcome is certainly interesting. a MUST MUST win against a beatable team. ... and here we have a 2-1 loss...... (i think even the 93/94 Oilers team wins a game like this).

its definetaly an interesting and eventfull time to be an Oilers fan.

For the Roger Millions haters...

He is payed to be that way.

56,000 bucks and I'd be that way. Hell give me 500 and I'd do it for one game

Kobasew would be the toughest ombre to hit the ice ever. Iginla would be given divine status.

McAmmond would turn into the most gungho-go-get'm player since John Tonelli

gee the positives oh goody we played well about 8 minutes into the second, this is so tiresome why does it take the other team scoring on this team before they start to put pressure on the opposition. im tired of this garbage team, i turned off the game halfway into the second, obviously a 100% effort will not happen. i give up on a team that is unwilling to play at least a consistent sixty minutes of hockey. of course the usual crap continues as well, a pp against and 0-4 on our own pp. we are now dead last in both areas of special teams, how embarrassing and pathetic.
i dont give a hoot about the positives, we lost again due to special teams, making the other goaltender look good, stupid penalties, and most of all they did not start playing hard until they were down 2-0. pathetic, im mad and something has to change, i dont care what it is. wakeup lowe.
the playoffs are out of our grasp, cmon ladies(refering to our players) perhaps tanking it is our best option we might have a crack at ovechkin after all.

Thanks for the info, but I doubt anyone here was really missing that point.

Just some posters commenting on a moment in the game where the Flames announcer got a little excited. We have a radio announcer here in Edmonton that does it from time to time. It's not armaggeddon

Nothing to see here HOZ. False alarm.

I think this about sums it up.

Good defense and goaltending >>> "depth" at forward

Am I to expect these snotty posts from now on? Yes, I disagree with you on the coaching. Try to be an adult about it.

Gauthier went for a hip check on Stoll. It was a little low (almost a hip to knee hit) and Stoll sidestepped it barely.

Smith didn't like that as he saw it as Gauthier taking liberties... so he went after him. What I'd like to understand is why there was no 3rd man in penalty? I forget the player but he was grabbing Smith by the head when Smith/Gauthier were engaged. Oh well.

I don't know what you guys thought.....
But that game was ugly, ugly, ugly.
Very sloppy effort by both teams. Good thing Calgary got a couple in the first, cause they looked like crap for the rest. Calgary looked like they were skatingi n sand...............
