I suggest somebody email Eklund and tell him that you're an insider for the Habs. Say Bob is currently in talks with Florida and we're close to getting Jokinen and Horton for Kovalev, Bouillon and the 12th pick.

I bet you he'd put it on his site saying he heard this "from a very close source"

Why even bother

Why do you guys even bother posting such garbage? It's because of posters like us that these people even have jobs.

Does this clown Eklund even have a desk?

I remember the last time someone on this website wanted to start a fake rumor so "Eklund would bite"...

This Ek clown has ruined any potential for revenue from me whereas I DON'T HIT HIS SITE ANYMORE.

Nor do I wish to pad his bank account anymore in any way!

that would be surprising but somehow it could make some little sense.. because Souray could give a last thanks to the canadiens organisation that he seems to respect a lot by accepting to sign and go elsewhere in a trade(that he choosed the destination before of course).

But let just say I would give it less than 0.01% of chance to happen !

the ONLY possibility would be if the team (VAN or COL) need to get rid of player$ to acquire Souray, but that's it... and it's not like there's no other way to get rid of some salary anyway...

I'd like to request a moratorium on all future Eklund topics. I know there's not much to talk about this time of year, but his "news" is just so worthless it doesn't even bear repeating.

Sign and tradeThis isn't the NBA or NFL!

Why would a team do a sign and trade with a UFA? Any UFA like Souray would be having a no trade clause in their contract or trades to teams they may accept too....Eklund is truly an idiot for thinking this one up!

Hossa- Heatley...

Its about Souray giving back to the habs organization, they can activate the no-trade on the contract 1 day after the sign and trade I suppose as well.

This idea isnt a joke, its real. I believe we will sign him, the real question is will we keep him.

totally different scenario. restricted free agents don't have that much leverage. It seemed like Hossa would bail the next year so they traded him while they still had his rights.

we don't have souray's rights anymore.

That's not true at all. We have his rights until July 1st, so theoretically such a trade is possible if a team is willing to pay a premium not to have to outbid people in free agency.

It would make perfect sense if Montreal cannot fit him under the cap. It would make perfect sense to the suitor who would definitely get him and likely for less.

Unfortunately, it makes absolutely no sense for Souray.
