An amazing piece. My face was wet after reading this very touching article.

Come back soon Heatley. We all miss you on the ice.

I didn't know how to feel. I felt sad for the Snyders, I felt sad for the players and coaches.

I don't know how I feel about Dany Heatley.

Well, it was somewhat sad especially for Atlanta thrash fans. I hope Heatley makes a great recovery and gets back on ice very soon.

Well written and a different look from the everyday sludge in journalism.

One of the best articles I've read in a while. RIP Danny, and to Heatley, may Danny live on inside of you, along with the rest of your team.

Same here.

I would also add my voice to those praising the article. Well-written, particularly in this day and age and for something available on the internet.

This may be the first time ever I praise ESPN.

And chances are, if you're like me, the last time you'll feel compelled to do so. Boo-yea.

Actually, a very well done piece.

One thing that has struck me since the beginning of this sad episode is the rare character, strength and love of Dan Snyder's parents. Cannot emphasize enough the impression they have left with this reader. Talk about role models.

After dinner, Snyder turned to Kovalchuk as he got into Heatley's Ferrari. "Bye, Kovi," he said. "See you tomorrow."
Wow, that's brutal...

Quote:
Kovalchuk was also at the hospital the night Dan died. He was standing against the wall in that same long hospital hallway when LuAnn Snyder asked for his hand. Here, she said, here's a link from Dan's watch. This team needs you to lead, she told Kovalchuk. "This," she said, "is your link to Dan."
Wow...just wow.

Great article.

Very touching. That was a great article. Hope everything turns out all right for Danny Heatley and for the Snyder family and the Thrashers orginization.

I wish nothing but the best for the Snyder family, whom has displayed nothing but class and dignity despite losing a loved one.
