I personally think people are giving him too much credit because he's been the main guy on TV and such. Also because you hear about all of the players he drafted on the Isles who turned into big time players, therefore, we figure that Maloney must have been behind everything.

I think our Scouts were more responsible. Finding guys like Prucha & Lundqvist among others. Plus from what I hear Maloney had most pull in the first round, where we haven't had much success as of yet. I think Slats was the main man behind the trades and such. I can't see Maloney being so sly behind the phones, maybe I could be wrong, but that's just the way I see it.

Maloney had said in a few interviews that Glen is a master on the phones when it comes to negotiations with other GM's or agents.
Im sure Don picked up more than a thin or two about a thing or two.
