De-Retired Jersey Numbers

For some reasons some jersey that have been retired have been worn again.

Nordiques: #3 Jean-Claude Tremblay, #8 Marc Tardif, #16 Michel Goulet

have been de-retired when the team moved to Colorado. Did the Coyotes do the same thing with # 9 Bobby Hull and # 25 Thomas Steen when the Jets moved to Phoenix?

Whalers: #2 Rick Ley, #19 John McKenzie

The #9 Gordie Howe was also retired in Hartford was it worn since the team moved to Carolina?

Canadiens: #4 Aurele Joliat, #16 Elmer Lach

When the numbers were officially retired the team decided to honor both Joliat and Jean Béliveau for #4 and Lach and Henri Richard for #16. Now only Béliveau and Richard hangs from the rafters.

In an unpopular move to Boston, Guy Lapointe wore Dit Clapper #5 but changed to #27 after the Bruins fans disapproved.

Is there any others?

I thought The leafs had a bunch of Retired numbers but when I went to the Rpas game I noticed only 2 of the banners where Silver while the rest were White, the Silver ones are #5 Barillko and #6 Ace and they're retired the rest are just Honored Jerseys, which is odd why they didn't retire 27 for Sittler or 93 for Gilmour then.

It hasn't been worn, its still "unofficially" retired.

16 in detroit... no1 for a VERY long time will wear the number 16 in detroit, probably never again. Most wing fans wish it was/would be retired

I remember Ron Tugnutt wearing #1 in Montreal, but the number is retired for Jacques Plante...

If Miroslav Satan ever gets traded to the Devils I will consider retiring as an NHL fan. I'm afraid I couldn't take all the witty jokes that would follow, without killing anyone.

In Montréal some numbers like #1 & #2 were worn many years before they were officially retired by the team. Other numbers #18,19 & #33 for exemple are not retired yet but will be at some time.

#18 was last worn by Valeri Bure but not since his departure for Calgary
#19 has not since Larry Robinson move to L.A.
#33 has not since Patrick Roy trade to Colorado

There is a chance numbers 12,21 & 23 will also be retired someday as they were not handed to anyone at this year's training camp.
