If you could see two teams meet in the Stanley Cup Finals this season, NOT INCLUDING YOUR FAVOURITE TEAM, who would it be?
Real matchups...Eastern vs. Western here. You can be realistic or unrealistic, I don't care.
For me, since it would have to be without the Leafs, I'd vote for a St. Louis-Boston final, for two reasons. One, the Blues are a great Western team that's never won a Cup, and two, hopefully being in the finals would rejuvenate the city's love affair for the Bruins.
And in truth, while I will get plastered for this, I couldn't handle another Canadian team winning because I have tons of good friends from Vancouver, Ottawa and Calgary and I'd NEVER hear the end of it as a Leafs fan.
Screw the trap, I want to see scores in the finals looking something like this: 8-6, 7-4, 9-7, 8-5, and so forth.
I want to see some scoring through the playoffs and in the finals.
I want to see high-scoring teams like this dominate to turn the tide from this left-wing lock crapola to a more wide-open type of game.
I would have picked Detroit if I didn't have a particular distaste for them, because they are scoring 3.35 goals-per-game versus Atl's & Van's 3.03 & 2.94.
