Tampa Proposal

If Lecavalier was on the block?

Vinny is arguably the best player in the NHL and fills our #1 need in a top C. Hard to imagine Tampa letting him go but the rumors persist. Obviously this is financial burden on Tampa so how about this.

To Tampa: Montoya, Cullen, Malik, Immomen

To NYR: Lecavalier and Denis

We have to eat Denis stupid salary to sit on the bench but we say goodbyto Weekes and Malik and Cullen

Dubinski takes the third line center and we promote D man from Hartford to take Maliks spot

Doesn't do a whole lot for Tampa.

Vinny L will get a lot more than that. The only guy of any real value that you trade away is Montoya, the rest are spare parts they can find without having to give up Lecavalier.

I would say we need to give more, they will want another young kid rather than Malik. Not sure we could get it done at all.

They don't have a need for Malik of Cullen.

Well....what do they expect back. TOP Elite for Elite? Who can do that within the financial restraints. I thought salary was the big issue.

Richards moves up to the 1st line

Cullen and Jarko gives them new cheaper scenarios at C on the other lines

Malik is much better than what his distractors say in NY. He has a good +/- and is experienced

Montoya gives them a TOP goalie prospect likley ready to make the jump.

They lose Vinny but they rid themselves of Denis as well

I wouldn't mind taking Montoya but why would you want Denis.

Prucha would have to be part of the deal along with a 1st Rd draft pick..

.

Let me ammend the proposal and try to reflect what Tampa would consider fair

Montoya, Staal and the NYR 1st this year

for

Vinny

Even then, they may balk

Not gonna happen bro, Marc Staal is too good of a prospect. Although, I would take that deal in a heartbeat.

Where do I sign

We take Denis to relieve TB of the burden.

Vilela, which of Vinny, St Louis and Richards do you feel is the most likely to be moved?

Hmm, But TB needs a goalie. Montoya has to be involved.

I like Girard but picks are part of the problem. In actuality, I don't think Vinny will leave yet, Unless a crazy offer is made.

From the Tampa point of view, this is their one splash of a trade. They are trading their best player and number one asset, so they are going to want a lot.

My guess is they ask for:

Stall, Montoya, Prucha, Immonen a 1st and a 2nd

Not sure we want to do that, I know I wouldn't.

They would want Montoya and one or two other top prospects and a pick or two.

If you were a Tampa fan, wold you trade your best player and #1 center for the package you mentioned? Probably not.

Brad Richards -- I'm disappointed he hasn't produced as what I hope him to do.

The tandem of Cavvy & Louie is the best in the league why ruin that????

We need a goalie and a stay at home defenceman.

I really don't wanna say goodbye to Cullen. I think he was one of the best players on the ice for us during the Buffalo series. IMO he is a great 3rd Line center. Plus, his speed is exactly what the coaching staff is trying to build a team around. Lumping him with Malik and Weekes is doing Cullen a massive disservice imo. As fans we never get cheated on Cullens effort, the guy comes to play every single night.

I'm not lumping him

Have to give to get.

Cullen in a deal that brings back the best player in the NHL is not lumpy
