Stanley Cup Pre/Post game Talk

Just thought it might be a good idea to start a special thread for possibly the second biggest HFNHL event of the year (clearly the draft is gonna kick ass! ) So any pre or post game banter can all be directed here (or not if you wanna make me feel stupid )

So Hop on your respective Band-Wagon and lets get this series on!!!

Best of Luck Laurens, may the best goaltender win...

"Let the best goaltender win"

I think that is the basis of this series.

These two teams are pretty evenly balanced and goaltending will decide the Cup winner.

It would be awesome of someone outside of the two finalists did a preview...wink, wink, nudge, nudge to someone

Good luck Cohen...you'll need it

Good luck to both of you.

I like both teams, good mix of vets and youth and a great goalie.

And i think it is pretty safe to say that cohen made the trade of the year when he got Bryan Berard from Buffalo.

A trade met with some criticism at the time... Berard's making a bid to win back-to-back championships with different teams -- and he's averaging more than a point-per-game for Cohen's Sens this post-season.

I wondered about the critizism at the time, and still do. I think it was a clear win for the sens at the time and it has shown to be a smart move. Great work Cohen!

Game 4 -- a controversial HFNHL classic!

Chris Higgins knocks Kipper out of the game and BERARD scores the only goal to win the Game in the 3rd, 1-0.

HFNHL Sens up 3-1

Why is Bryan Berard such an HFNHL playoff legend. Going for his second cup in a row. Remind me the next time someone tries to trade Bryan Berard to be the first person in line to respond!

Remind me next season how over-rated winning your division is....I think I'll strive for the 7 seed in the East next season.

Oh man...this is BS! Seriously? No suspension for that?

Great game Cohen...slowly but surely taking out my best players so you can win the series. Guess I'm getting a taste of my own medicine.

Congrats Cohen!!!

I didn't expect to be the series go only to 5 games...
Sorry Laurens, not too great of a postseason for you, not in the NHL and not in HFNHL....

Both my teams made it to the finals this year...I'm estatic about that. Trust me on this...I was not expecting my HFNHL team to even make it into the playoffs...making the finals it surreal for me.

Congrats on a great season and playoff run, Laurens!

Cohen - congrats on the Cup victory. I guess that means two straight cup victories for our Aussie GMs. Too bad Dion's leaving us - he's on deck!

The HFNLH playoffs proved far more interesting than the NHL. And even if Laurens went down in 5 in the final, they were all very close games - can't say that about the NHL. Congratulations to both gentlemen, and Cohen - nice way to start your HFNHL career!

Nice Job Laurens

Great showing this year Laurens. Lots more to come. Some very wise manouevers earlier in the year to set your team up for a run like this... The Refs were bought off in the final IMO - thats the only way those chumps from Ottawa could have won. All the best, and enjoy the offseason.

Sorry for this late post guys but i have been flat out with study and still am (i won't be doing one of those 2000 word write ups josh does unfortunately )

But i would like to congratulate Laurens on a tough, well fought series, won primarily through higgins cheap-shotting kipper into the boards (it was i who gave him the idea to use the knee to genitals tactic )

I would also like to thank all administration for their behind the scenes work (and i'm sure everyone appreciates it a thousand times over)

Thank you to everyone for making my debut season a memorable one (i'm sure my uni grades will suffer though ) this is by far a thousand times more fun than ****** the cpu in trades on nhl 07...

And to whoever has my 1st round pick this year, blame Bert...
