Jagr doesn't know what is in his contract. He guarantee the option if he scores 50 goals next season or has 84 points and the Rangers win a playoff series next season OR he scores 40 goals or has 90 points and the Rangers win a playoff series next season

Quote:
If he scores 40 goals or 90 points and his team wins the first round of the playoffs in the final year of the contract.

If he scores 80 goals or 180 points in the final two years of the contract and his team wins two rounds of the playoffs.

If he wins a major award in the final three seasons of the deal or his team wins two Stanley Cups in that time
.
The guy had 96 points with one arm

the most important thing IMO that Jagr says is that the management has given him a lot of support and that he really appreciates that.

he says that if he is not up to the standards he rather play lower level competition rather than be average in the NHL.

his shoulder has been a problem all season

on gomez, briere and drury - he only mentions that they are available and that the Rangers have some room to maneuvre.

Thank you for the translation Tom, I like what Jags has to say for the most part. I think he will be very inspired next season.

So can Dubi.
I think Shanahan sentiment is nothing more than veteran solidarity. Although I'd sign Shanny for next year. It would be different role than last season. In that new role - 3rd line wing - he is much better fit than Mess once was at this stage of player's career. May be because Mess always wanted to play C. 3 million plus incentives (including SC final and Cup itself) and Shanny stays.

I think Shanahan will get $3M just based on this organization's loyalty. Can't see less. But do you want to pay a third liner $3M?

This is NY. Stardom sells tickets. 3 mill is not unreasonable. Didn't we pay Holik more than that?

Good translation. Looks like Jagr and possibly Nylander should be around for 2 more years, and he says that a D and F are still needed., two possitions we've all wanted filled for the last 2 seasons.

Does his '06 Lester B Pearson not count as a "major" award?
