Big Joe

1) Would anyone really care if he was traded (for fair value of course)? Personally I wouldn't care if he was moved this season in a blockbuster deal.

2) Do you guys think he'll ever play for "his hometown" Leafs before he retires? I can't see Joe wanting to remain with the B's for his entire career. You know the Leafs would die to get him (and Joe would probably kill to play for them as well).

Joe gets traded in this Kneejerk reaction and it will go down as the worst trade Boston ever pulled regardless of who we get back. 29 other teams would line up to get him. He is poised to dominate the league for the next 10 years provided he gets his head out of his arse and starts to play up to his abilities. Who could you get back from any other team that would have as much value?

I hate to say it, but once Glen Murray is out of town, I think we're going to see what Jumbo Joe is really capable of doing in this league....

I Can't Believe That Trading Joe Would Be An Option. He's The Franchise. He Will Be Dominant No Matter Who He Plays With Look What Knuble Did Last Year With Joe

Joe

Five things against Joe staying (there's so much in his favour, but anyhow...)
1.) The Lobel Interview - he's not sold on Boston at all.
2.) The "Retirement"Comments - he's not sold on Boston at all.
3.) The Staph infections
4.) The Not Having an Impact in the Playoffs
5.) The Inconsistency, which are not seeing at all in Bergeron. Bergeron is making Thornton look bad in comparison, even if Joe is putting up more points.

Five things in Joe's favour of staying:
1.) He's got a complete game, when he shows up
2.) He's improved in faceoffs and passing
3.) Trading Muzz will wake him up, and he's realizing his own power
4.) It would be a PR disaster in trading him, even if we got three great players in return that helped us get to the conf. finals.
5.) It's still too early to dish him off in terms of reaching potential...however in terms of diminishing returns, it might be worth trading him.

I'd be curious to see his faceoff stats year over year, I think his faceoff skills leave alot to be desired!

Totally agree, it will force him to actually skate and create.
