I don't know, jas. Prucha is the only asset with real value in your proposal. You aren't getting Richards for that price.

TB is not in a position where they need to move Richards with the cap continuing to rise. They may want to move Richards to spread their money around a bit more, but they can just as easily hold on to him. They definitely don't move him for a lowball offer.

I'd go as high as Prucha, the 1st, Cullen, and TB's choice of Rachunek, Pock, Baranka, Sauer, or Sanguinetti for Richards. I'd hope that TB's need for NHL d-men would keep them away from Sauer and Sanguinetti, but I'd be willing to deal either if TB insisted.

He's not ready. How about that?

So sign Stumpel and Kozlov to 1 yr deals. If you see Dubinksy is ready by deadline then go ahead and trade someone opening up a spot for him, but if you're contending it would be wise to keep if that player is performing.

Again I would be shocked if Sather signs or goes after a big name. He's going to stay put with the work he has in front of him and take credit for players like Prucha/Montoya(for now). Even so I think Prucha is a heckuva player. I wouldn't really want to trade the guy. He came off a year where he got limited PP and mostly 3rd line minutes yet found a way to score 22 goals. Get him a 2nd line center and he'll get you around 30 goals a season. So I'd like to reiterate that it wouldn't shock me at all if sather goes for guys like Kozlov, Stumpel,Zubrus, comrie and even calder type players, sorta low-key players as opposed to the Richards,Lecavaliers and the Yashin's of the NHL. If anything he'll wait for the deadline. It's been a routine for hgim to AVOID THE BIG NAMES in the last couple seasons. Shanahan is different because he's the one who came up to Sather and said he wanted to be a Ranger..and well, how can you say no to that.
