Todd Fedoruk-UFA

habs fan here...

i have interest in your fedoruk... and i think i'd offer him a contract for just under a mil... i'm looking to solicit your honest opinions of him... i've always like what he brings to the rink... my take on his injury-plagued year was that he should remarkable guts last year... what's the consensus around here... is todd still effective as forechecker and can he still contribut on a regular basis or do you think his injuries are career threatening.

Should retire....

He's had his orbital bone broken a couple of times...Maybe only once, not 100%. Not a true heavyweight but tries to battle them anyways. Admire his guts but I'd steer clear.

thanks for responding...

yeah that's him... he's really a puerto rican but the puerto rican assassin doesn't translate as well to the heel's role.

grand prix rules though. the moondogs and killer karl... some crazy characters.

He'll give you a little more offense that you might think and I really like his attitude and approach towards the game. He takes great pride in being a Flyer and respects the history of what it means to be a Flyer.

That being said, I've seen him get jacked up way too many times last year to want him back.

those are the main reasons i'm interested... he had a rough year but i admire how competitive he is... we need more guys like this (who'll go through a wall for you).

That's the whole reason to get him, but after his injuries he'd probably lose the battle against that wall you're sending him through.

He'll be really good at smacking your under-achieving players into submission.

Fedoruk is a hell of a guy, a lot of character, a whole lot of team spirit, and always willing to talk to the media.

His fighting skills have plummited however.

Not sure how old this video is:

He has some skills to offer as a 4th line player as he developed a bit in Anaheim. If he is a constant pest and forechecks, I dont mind him being the 13th forward, fill in when needed, good in the locker room but please please please dont get the face beat in anymore!!

He's a heck of a nice guy, Brings lots and heart and intensity, but i think his role as a enforcer is mostly over now. I think he may make a decent asst coach one day.

Depending on what happens with Afansenkov and the younger guys like Downie etc, I could see Fedoruk and Eager making up a pretty physical energy line, just as long as Fedoruk realizes he can't fight like he used to. He's still a solid hitter, has decent speed and doesn't completely suck in either zone.

fedoruk needs to go to a team that has an enforcer so he can play a role more like eager's...physical forechecker...pest...and drop gloves only occasionally when standing up for a teammate...

that formula didn't work when he played with brash as he never turned down an offer...if he played on a team w/ an enforcer like MINN (boogey), BUF (peters), or WSH (brash) he could have a role similar to neil (mcgratts)...

fridges pt/game production was actually better then neil's, simon's, & close to laraques in less games up until he was KO'd...but in the end fridge has more heart then brains ( it will kill him to turn down an offer to go) and he will revert to old habits and maybe get hurt again

The big joke in the Maritimes was that the "Cuban" was actually from Moncton. I didn't actually know where he was from, great heel though. He used to use a popsicle stick as a foreign object. It was a lotta fun. Makes me miss the days of the Great Malumba and Leo Burke. That sleeper hold was money. I don't watch wrestling anymore but I still see posters for Grand Prix every now and again. I assume it's still going strong in the hotbed of Atlantic Canada.

thats a sweet pic of the Cuban Assassian. I was lucky enough to see him live several times and also almost every week on Stampede Wrestling, back in the day.

man we have to spend out money wisely, even though we do have a ton for free agency. we need to get some bang for our buck, and the fridge is not a good investment. as long as we have a few guys that can throw a punch we'll be fine.
