People are so extremely quick to let the intertia of gossip infect them.
Bulin has not performed as the top goaltender in the league. But talent wise, he is up there and performance wise he STILL is a playoff quality goalie. So cut the myth spreading, don't let the negative opinions about Bulin infect your logic. The Hawks can not afford to trade Bulin without replacing him with a playoff caliber goalie. One for one that what we expect and require.
These trades stink, not as a result of nessecary lack of quality coming the other way, but because they are not based on helping Chicago and also seem to have Bulin as a throw in/salary dump as if it is ok to just have a hole in the goalie position.
Khabibulin > Rask (at least at the moment)
Seabrook > Donovan
1st overall > 8th overall
Yes that is what i meant.
I really doubt that Rask steps into the NHL and is immediately better than Khabby is now. Also the fact that Seabrook is probably more valuable than Rask by himself. Boston would probably bite your hand off if you offered them Seabrook + Khabby for Rask. Rask has not proven anything in the NHL yet and i wouldn't want to trade a potential franchise defense man in Seabrook and a solid (if overpaid) #1 goalie in Khabby for him. Khabby is doing a good job for Chicago and although it is true that they are short on NHL potential goaltenders but that is far far too much to give up to get one that hasn't even played a single game in the NHL yet. You could get Montoya from NY for much less than that and he is in the same league as Rask potential wise.
I don't see this helping us in the long run...
So, we give up the #1 pick this year & one of the best young D for an inconsistent W, a 3-4 D & a guy that hasn't played in the NHL yet, AND we get a 2nd rounder & a late 1st next year...Where do I sign?????????
